Dr Gene Ray (born 1927) is the author of several websites, on which he presents writings related to his discovery of the Time Cube principle, which is claimed to represent the ineffable Truth of the Universe.

Dr Ray worked as an electrician and studied this principle for several decades prior to creating his Time Cube website in August, 1997. Initially he created the site after being banned from several Internet message boards due to his controversial views.

Dr Ray has stated that his main reason for publicising his discovery on the Internet is to induce a research group to evaluate the Time Cube, and control its release upon the public. He also offers $10,000 to any academic institution or professor who disproves Time Cube. Due to the general attitude that Time Cube is eccentric nonsense, Dr Ray currently poses no threat to academia and the government, entities which he considers evil.

A typical Ray quotation is "Time is CUBIC, not linear as stupid educators teach." He has updated his Time Cube site every few weeks for several years, resulting in a single massive page. Ray has made comments on his sites which some people view as anti-Semitic or racist, however Ray denies any such biases. A few people say they understand the "Cubic Truth" he is communicating, but he is frequently accused of being a crank. Some supporters of Time Cube believe Ray to be the greatest thinker and wisest human to ever live on Earth. Ray also proclaimed himself a Doctor of Cubicism in December 2002, explaining that universities are too evil to bestow upon him such a prestigious honour of Wisdom.

In January 2002, Ray lectured and debated Time Cube with students at MIT. This event was the first such presentation within an academic institution.

Quotations

From http://www.timecube.com (accessed October 31, 2003):

  • I bestow upon myself the "Doctorate of Cubicism", for educators are ignorant of Nature's Harmonic Time Cube Principle and cannot bestow the prestigious honor of wisdom upon the wisest human ever.
  • (...) are you too dumb to know there are 4 different simultaneous 24 hour days within a single rotation of earth? Greenwich 1 day is a lie. 4 quadrants = 4 corners, and 4 different directions. Each Earth corner rotates own separate 24 hour day (...)
