The Kingdom Hearts Trading Card Game is a Japanese collectible card game based on the video game Kingdom Hearts. It has been produced in English by Fantasy Flight Games. In this game, you fight against the forces of evil and darkness. In order to do so, you call on allies from the worlds of Final Fantasy and Disney. With their help, you can overcome the hordes of "heartless", evil minions of darkness and despair.
Overview
In 2007 Fantasy Flight Games acquired the rights to translate the game and market it to the English-speaking market. In the Kingdom Hearts Trading Card Game, you will take the role of Sora from the Kingdom Hearts story. Using the cards, you journeying from world to world, while battling the Heartless.
The game
Two players can play in the Kingdom Hearts TCG, each of whom will have his/her own deck and Player Card.
There are two paths to victory:
- 1. The first way to win is to travel to different worlds with a combined level value of 13. Each world's level is a measure of how dangerous it is, so a player could travel to a small number of hazardous worlds, or a large number of safer worlds, and in either case emerge victorious.
- 2. The second way to win is to launch enough challenges to remove all of an opponent player’s Heart Points and eliminating him/her from the game. The resources you spend attacking your opponent are resources you're not spending battling the Heartless and traveling to new worlds. So, it's important to be able to adopt either victory strategy, depending on the current situation.
Availability
The game will be distributed in Key Packs, Booster Packs, Starter Packs, Chapter Packs, and Kingdom Packs. The game will be released in North America during mid-November of 2007.
