He is a specialist in Terrorism and Security Studies, and was the author among other books&studies in 2002 of the study: Islamic Fundamentalists, Global Network and Modus Operandi: Model Bosnia Part I, and in 2004 Islamic Fundamentalists, Global Network and Modus Operandi: Model Bosnia, Part II published by the Documentation Center of the Government of Republica Srpska's .
Dr.Trifunovic was previously a diplomat 2001, (First Secretary) in the Foreign Service of Bosnia and Herzegovina at UN, 2003, Adviser to the State Secretary for War Crimes of Republic of Srpska for Terrorism and Violence and in 2005 Adviser to the Minister of Police of the Republic of Srpska, Bosnia.
Since 2004, Darko Trifunovic was designate as representative for Serbia and Montenegro of International Strategic Studies Association (ISSA), Defense & Foreign Affairs publications, the Global Information System (GIS). ISSA is the Washington-based worldwide membership organization involved in national management, and particularly national and international security policy.
Trifunovic is Senior Adviser of the (RIEAS) based in Greece as well as contributing expert on . Trifunovic is member of the Board of Directors Jasenovac Research Institute based in New York.
Controversy
Darko Trifunovic is the author of a controversial 2002 report by the Documentation Center of Republic of Srpska in Banja Luka on the 1995 Srebrenica massacre. . Amongst other things, the report claims that the widely accepted figure 8,000 Bosniak men killed in the massacre is inflated and that only about 2,000 men, all soldiers, were killed .
