Steven Curtis Chapman (born November 21, 1962 in Paducah, Kentucky) has been one of the biggest stars of contemporary Christian music since the late 1980s.

He is also a nationally recognized advocate for adoption. After he and his wife Mary Beth had three biological children, (Emily Elizabeth, Caleb Stevenson, Will Franklin) they adopted three Chinese girls (Shaohannah Hope Yan, Stevey Joy Ru, Maria Sue).
