Mongo only pawn in game of life..., but I do like candy...
I have pages on Commons where I usually upload my images and release them to the public domain and Meta which I recently created.
I have an essay about why linking to harassment is BAD...please read it only if you have plenty of free time available...
Making comments here...just some basic generalizations regarding some issues as I come across them.
Featured articles
Featured articles demand the contributions and input of numerous editors. I encourage editors to help us get more articles to featured level by helping with peer review and by making wise suggestions on featured article candidates.
Featured articles started and was a major contributor on
- Shoshone National Forest, which appeared as Today's Featured Article on January 14, 2007.
- Retreat of glaciers since 1850, which appeared as Today's Featured Article on April 18, 2006. This article is an excellent example of the collaborative spirit of Misplaced Pages. I might have started it, but without the excellent additions made by Wsiegmund, Peltoms and Lulu of the Lotus-Eaters as well as an exhaustive review by Doug Bell and others...it never would have gotten to the level it is.
- Elk was split off from the Red deer article after DNA evidence concluded it was a distinct species. I had lots of help here from a number of other editors.
- Yellowstone fires of 1988 was written to document one of the most dramatic events in National Park Service history. Much thanks to numerous editors including Frutti di Mare for all the fine copyediting, Wsiegmund for his assistance adapting a fire progression gif and other additions and Rlevse for his fine tuning.
Featured articles started by others
- Redwood National and State Parks...how the article looked before rewrite, main contributor, but had a lot of assistance from others, especially Frutti di Mare.
- Glacier National Park (U.S.)...how the article looked before rewrite, major contributor along with Elkman.
- Yellowstone National Park complete update, adding inline cites, text expansion and submitted for featured article review. Originally brought to featured status by Mav.
- Banff National Park Though I did nominate this article for FA, all I did was work on the geology and glacier section and created some stubs to eliminate some relined links...all the real credit goes to Aude.
Did you know items on main page
- Lake Ilo National Wildlife Refuge...that over 58,000 Paleo-Indian artifacts were unearthed at Lake Ilo National Wildlife Refuge in North Dakota when lake waters were lowered on the lake in 1989 to reconstruct a dam?
- Rogers Pass (Montana)...the coldest temperature ever recorded in the United States outside of Alaska is -70 °F (-56.66 °C) at Rogers Pass, Montana?
- Ben Kuroki...that Ben Kuroki was the only Japanese-American in the U.S. Army Air Force to serve in combat operations in the Pacific during World War II?
