The Doric Club is an association of Loyalists set up by Adam Thom. The organisation will be both a social club and an armed society. The members of the Club were mostly the same people who had been forced to leave the British Rifle Corp after its dissolution by Lord Gosford in January of 1836.

Despite the opposition of Lord Gosford, the Doric Club will be tolerated by General John Colborne and the other Loyalist armed groups.

On March 16, 1836, the club published its manifesto, calling all loyal British to unite against the "French domination".
