FTW is an initialism meaning For The Win, or sometimes; For Teh Win. Both are commonly used in gaming, especially MMORPGs.
Much like WOOT, it originated as a gaming term. It usually meant something that helped in the goal of winning, and therefore was "for the win" . These days it is more broadly used as meaning, a good/beneficial thing.
