However, the term is not appreciated by some people, who prefer the expression 'Aboriginal people'. Many Aboriginal races have been the object of Genocide
In common usage (although this may be seen as derogatory), this term refers specifically to the original inhabitants of Australia or ofTaiwan. 'Aboriginal' however can be used as a term to refer to any original or first nation.
