Hello East718, i notice you have deleted my recent image upload. Can I ask on what grounds? I have been given permission from the copyright holder. Do I need to show evidence for this or something? —Preceding unsigned comment added by Voncrass (talkcontribs) 00:07, 1 April 2008 (UTC)

That shouldn't be a problem, I already have his permission. So how do I go about getting licensing, is there some procedure to follow? —Preceding unsigned comment added by Voncrass (talkcontribs) 00:15, 1 April 2008 (UTC)

Image:VictoriaV07.jpg

Hi, I'm requesting that you restore Image:VictoriaV07.jpg. I propose to use this in Seras Victoria. It was used there previously, but was replaced with fan art (Image:Seras 16-1.jpg) of the character. Since both are non-free, I think the picture used in the work itself better illustrates the character. Thanks, --Phirazo 01:00, 1 April 2008 (UTC)

Thanks! --Phirazo 01:04, 1 April 2008 (UTC)

Zuoken

Hello! :) Late last year, Zuoken was proposed for deletion. Five days passed and no one contested it, so you deleted the article as expected. In retrospect, I feel someone should have merged and/or redirected the article to List of Greyhawk deities. After the fact, I decided to create a redirect anyway. I'm wondering if it's possible to restore the original article, and turn it into a redirect, thus preserving the edit history? If you agree, you can obliterate the current edit history, or just add it to the original edit history. Thanks, BOZ (talk) 02:35, 1 April 2008 (UTC)

You're awesome, thanks! :) BOZ (talk) 02:37, 1 April 2008 (UTC)

Template: Country data Greece

Hello! As you protected the template from edits, could you please replace the flags for the parameters royal and royalnavy, with Image:Hellenic Kingdom Flag 1935.svg and Image:Hellenic Naval Ensign 1935.svg respectively? These are both better and more accurate versions. Thank you and cheers, Cplakidas (talk) 11:23, 1 April 2008 (UTC)

User:ComputerGuy890100/Cabals

Why did you delete something on my userspace without premission? — ComputerGuy890100What I've done to help Misplaced Pages 15:47, 1 April 2008 (UTC)

Why did you delete it at all? There was no need to delete it and consensus of the Misplaced Pages community was to keep it. — BQZip01 —  20:54, 1 April 2008 (UTC)
Yes, there may have been some conflict, but the discussion at WP:ANI was almost strictly amongst admins. No outside input seems to have been elicited (i.e. "A page in your user space has been nominated for deletion..." or anything along those lines. With contrary inputs from a large portion of the community (2 admins vs. ~20 users), I do not believe you should have initiated such an action, at least without some discussion from the Misplaced Pages Community. I've noticed a recent spat of "This is not productive and should be deleted" mentality across Misplaced Pages where the harm is nonexistent and the time wasted defending such spurious request is problematic (I'm NOT saying this is the case here, but that this is where I am coming from). I humbly request that the deleted pages simply be put up for discussion at WP:MfD where wider community input can be assessed; I think that is only fair. — BQZip01 —  04:44, 2 April 2008 (UTC)

Revert script

Unapproved bot added lots of poorly formed links per Misplaced Pages:Administrators'_noticeboard#ANI_is_locked, you got a script that can fix that? MBisanz 16:24, 1 April 2008 (UTC)

When list1 and list2 are eventually created (going on 100 hours and I'm only at Album covers, but eh), where will they drop to? Directory or wiki? MBisanz 05:46, 3 April 2008 (UTC)
Well right now its showing a consistent 50% CPU usage and a 146MB memory footprint, out of 2,667MB available. Until it hits like 250MB, I'm not that concerned about system stability. MBisanz 20:06, 3 April 2008 (UTC)

Wtf did you delete my pictures for?

I have permission to use these pics pal! Why the fuck did you delete them? — Preceding unsigned comment added by Mneb430 (talkcontribs)

I GOT PERMISSION!

Ok I apologise for cursing and being rude the first time. I have gotten permission from the person who took those pictures. His name is John Gregorio. He posted it at TNR Total Nonstop Racing a Nascar Racing 2003 league I race in. It wil make the page look alot niceer with these logos. I think you should reconsider the deletion of Amp_Can.JPG and Amp_Lineup.jpg. Thank you for your time. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Mneb430 (talkcontribs) 02:30, 2 April 2008 (UTC)

how does he get it licensed?

how does he get the picture licensed? just email me permission? —Preceding unsigned comment added by Mneb430 (talkcontribs) 02:43, 2 April 2008 (UTC)

he sent you an email

he sent you an email. Will you restore the images now and put them on the Amp Misplaced Pages page? —Preceding unsigned comment added by Mneb430 (talkcontribs) 02:56, 2 April 2008 (UTC)

Thanks I appreciate your help.

User:Basketball110/Mr. Potato Head Cabal/Fun facts challenge

You should not have deleted User:Basketball110/Mr. Potato Head Cabal/Fun facts challenge, it encouraged research to write and expand articles. The Potato Head cabal in general was helpful to wikipedia unlike the other cabals that were deleted.--Uga Man (talk) UGA MAN FOR PRESIDENT 2008 22:02, 1 April 2008 (UTC)

Mellow

Could you please restore: Harsh their mellow, Harshing my mellow, Harshing your mellow, Harshing one's mellow, Harshing ones mellow, Harshing my mellow, Harshing his mellow, Harshing her mellow? Thanks. --evrik  23:26, 1 April 2008 (UTC)

  • Thanks. Some admins like to be asked first before an editor goes elsewhere, that's why I asked you. Thanks again! --evrik  17:18, 3 April 2008 (UTC)

ANI discussion

Please have a look at this ANI thread, relating to a load of CSD I1 deletions of {{vva}}-tagged files you did earlier.--Nilfanion (talk) 00:06, 2 April 2008 (UTC)

By the way, sorry if you feel that you should have been contacted before the ANI thread. However, I don't really think that your actions (or Wizardman's or whoever else hit the delete button) were wrong; which is why I went straight there as opposed to to you first.--Nilfanion (talk) 11:59, 2 April 2008 (UTC)

PayPay draft

can you check the draft i wrote. Would it be acceptable? Thanks --AndreYoung (talk) 12:22, 2 April 2008 (UTC)

I've added some references and more information. --AndreYoung (talk) 15:12, 3 April 2008 (UTC)
If moneybookers article which is for a long time (right at the beginning) with no sources or references still on wikipedia(wasn't deleted) and acceptable I think that my article is sufficient too. --AndreYoung (talk) 22:58, 3 April 2008 (UTC)

Awarding Barnstar

The Barnstar of Good Humor
Aprils fools day was a blast. Loads of users lightened up to have good old fashion fun. I want to thank you for taking part in editing this page in particular and even though I may not know you, embrace the same talk pages, or even edit with you in the near future, I'd like to award you this Barnstar for making Misplaced Pages a fun environment in which to contribute. Until next year. :) SynergeticMaggot (talk) 12:59, 2 April 2008 (UTC)

Protect

thanks, as an ancient admin, I'm a bit behind the times (: Jimfbleak (talk) 05:17, 4 April 2008 (UTC)

When you delete a page, there isn't a protect tab to use, as far as I can see - please advise further Jimfbleak (talk) 12:26, 4 April 2008 (UTC)

Image:Kay02.jpg

What is the problem?. I am going to restore the image now. Please discuss any proposed deletion. Bob BScar23625 (talk) 16:45, 4 April 2008 (UTC)

East718. No, I didn't take the picture myself. It was taken and circulated by a Zimbabwe civil rights group. They won't raise any copyright issues, believe me. Bob BScar23625 (talk) 17:27, 4 April 2008 (UTC)

Josiah leming deletion-Want Josiah Leming page

I want a Josiah Leming page.

I was aware that a while back that it was up for discussion, but since the page was available whenever I checked, I thought that the discussion had ended in favor of having a Josiah Leming page. I attended a week long conference away from the internet and find I missed the discussion during that time frame. If I could have been allowed to participate, I would have strongly favored keeping a Josiah Leming page.

A dedicated Josiah Leming page was useful to me and represented what I liked about Misplaced Pages, which was popular, current, and hot topics that are in a process of change so that it is worth my time to check the Misplaced Pages page from time to time. Historical and demographic information that is fairly static is easy enough to find from other sources. If I have to dig through another page to find information about Josiah Leming then that also defeats the purpose of Misplaced Pages being quick and easy to use versus another source. Without a page like a Josiah Leming page being available, Misplaced Pages is too much like the competition and frankly is not much use to me.

Watching someone who has great potential launch a career with a fascinating background story, this is the point in the time of someone’s life that I find most interesting, compared to years later when I have heard the same facts over and over again. Also he is someone young who has experienced more than average several lifetimes. He also was a very controversial cut on the most popular television show currently. I find him to be fascinating and notable. He has that “it factor”.

Glancing at the list of other topics that are still waiting to be included, I am wondering if there is a snob factor toward popular culture or at the very least, a gap between the decision makers who decide what is notable versus other segments of the population. I do wish that the decision makers at Misplaced Pages had a wider understanding of what different groups in the population find to be notable.

I do comprehend that Misplaced Pages is overwhelmed with requests for topics, but I have little interest in most of the other pages offered by Misplaced Pages. Frankly, I am enough of a data geek that I don’t really need Misplaced Pages to find information. Misplaced Pages was mostly a nice starter page to move on to more detailed sites or in the case of Josiah Leming, a nice page to find quick and timely information that was also abbreviated enough that I found comfortable enough to refer to other people.

I understand that you were following policy, specifically deletion policy. I have a master’s degree in public policy and years of government experience dealing with policies. However, I have policies of my own and I will maintain a personal policy of boycotting all other Misplaced Pages pages until a Josiah Leming page exists again.

If Josiah Leming is not notable enough for Misplaced Pages policies, then Misplaced Pages is not notable enough for me to use. By having policies that excludes a page such as Josiah Leming, then I am obviously not the intended audience for the current Misplaced Pages anyway. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Soapbox0916 (talkcontribs) 21:48, 4 April 2008 (UTC)

Elisa's awards

You indicated in the deletion summary of User:ElisaEXPLOSiON/Awards it is a "talk page of an indefinately blocked user," yet Elisa is only blocked for 2 weeks. Cheers, Basketball110  Talk  03:07, 5 April 2008 (UTC)

Good catch... I will be restoring those shortly... but I have a question I've been meaning to ask you for a while. Can you explain why you operate an abusive alternate account - one that you've vandalized administrators' userpages with? east.718 at 03:09, April 5, 2008
Two months, likely to be upped to indefinte shortly per consensus if I judge community sentiment about making physical threats and gross personal attacks with sockpuppets correctly. Daniel (talk) 03:10, 5 April 2008 (UTC)
What? Basketball110  Talk  03:11, 5 April 2008 (UTC)
Please don't lie. This account is unquestionably you - and the only reason I haven't disclosed it publicly is to protect your own privacy. All I'm looking for is an explanation. east.718 at 03:12, April 5, 2008
Elisa used sockpuppets to make physical threats and gross personal attacks. Daniel (talk) 03:13, 5 April 2008 (UTC)
This is for East718, not Daniel, sorry if I made that unclear from the beginning. Can I see a link or something? Basketball110  Talk  03:15, 5 April 2008 (UTC)
Special:Contributions/68.185.194.16. You vandalized CBM's userpage just 25 minutes after he called you out for canvassing regarding userspace games. east.718 at 03:18, April 5, 2008
Perhaps I'd lost my cool at the time, but I don't remember doing that. Basketball110  Talk  03:19, 5 April 2008 (UTC)
You say "I don't remember doing that" like it wasn't you, but this IP address is obviously yours. Then you say you "lost your cool," come on, that's no excuse! I have very little tolerance for people who abuse multiple accounts to avoid scrutiny or segregate bad edits they don't want associated with them - usually I end up blocking them forever. Tell me, why should you be different? east.718 at 03:24, April 5, 2008
