Founded in late November 2007, the company works in conjunction with ten restaurants and delivers meals and dishes off the restaurants’ regular in-house menus for an 18% gratuity charge. There is a $9.95 minimum order. Cuisines include Russian, Argentinian, Chinese, Japanese, Mexican, Indian, Thai, and Italian. The company ties itself with high quality, fresh gourmet foods, posting nutritional information on the website.
Operations
Delivery4Tip relies on a delivery infrastructure designed specifically to work with partner restaurants and the idiosyncrasies of their menu items. It is based on an internet-based service where partner restaurants sign a contract to work with the food-ordering website in order to get their food to the customers. The website contains a database that customers can logon to their account and combine menu items from more than one restaurant. Customers have the opportunity to customize their dish preparation when ordering. Order by phone is also available.
The Company
Delivery4Tip targets condo-dwellers, tying high-end consumers with fine cuisine take-out via the world wide web. The company promotes and encourages a healthy lifestyle by working with high-quality food products. Its goal is to deliver great cuisine with a simple click. Delivery4Tip will expand delivery to Fort Lauderdale and South Beach, and looks to expand by working with other companies such as Whole Foods that share the same high standards in food quality. At the moment, it functions out of one van.
About the Founder
The company’s founder, Alex Konanykhin, is a successful entrepreneur who also enjoys good food. In his home country of Russia, Mr. Konanykhin built a banking and investment empire, controlled Russia’s largest commercial bank, and was a member of former President Boris Yeltsin inner circle. He left his country in 1992 and was granted asylum in the United States in 1999. In New York City, Konanykhin began a successful advertising company and was chosen as “New York Businessman of the Year.” His book, Defiance, or How to Succeed in Business, is a true story on his life and his success.
