Is Steinway the name of a place? The article seems to suggest that, but it's hard to tell. Is it is a place name, then where is it? I would have expected this article to be about the piano makers, but I suppose that might live at Steinway Company or something if this is indeed a place. I keep meaning to expand the piano related entries, not got round to it yet. --Camembert

Steinway B Grand #35727 History

Model B built in New York in 1877. Transplanted into modern Rosewood case in 1929: size 83 inches; finish Satin; style Traditional. Sold to Dr. Hubert & Mrs. Caroline Ingram, at California auction in 1949. Preserved by several professional tuners (and amateur players) over subsequent 56 years. Small blemish (from reseating lid support beam) in 1970s. Maintenance in hands of Burton & Wilson (Scotts Valley CA) from 1991 to 2005. Appraised at $62,000 replacement value / $27,500 retail value in October 2000. Moved to South Pasadena home of architect Doug (& wife Maggie) Ewing in August 2005.
