Reference library request - Mechademia 1 for magical girls
Hi Nihonjoe, I was hoping you could please look up for me in Mechademia 1 "Metamorphosis of the Japanese Girl: The Girl, the Hyper-Girl, and the Fighting Beauty" by Mari Kotani, as I'm hoping it mentions Sailor Moon (although if it doesn't, I'd still try and incorporate the information into other articles) - again, of course, at your convenience and leisure. Thanks for your time. -Malkinann (talk) 08:29, 8 May 2008 (UTC)
- I'll look it up, though it may not be for a few days. Thanks for your patience. ···日本穣 04:28, 9 May 2008 (UTC)
- Thanks for letting me know it'll be a while. :) If you don't do these reference library requests at your own pace, then you'll end up absolutely hating taking part in the Reference Library and not doing it any more - I'd much rather that you go at your own pace and hopefully not hating it.-Malkinann (talk) 09:17, 9 May 2008 (UTC)

- Okay, the two mentions of Sailor Moon are only in passing. I'll work on scanning the article for your reference if you still want to use it for something else. It mainly talks about Revolutionary Girl Utena. ···日本穣 01:20, 31 May 2008 (UTC)
- Oh yuck, one of my least fave shows. If it's okay, can we just leave that one be? Hope you went well with your art show. :) -Malkinann (talk) 22:07, 1 June 2008 (UTC)
- Okay, I won't scan the article for you. The art show went well. ···日本穣 22:41, 1 June 2008 (UTC)
Please mediate
Hello. The Kofun Period of Japan has received destruction. I need your mediation. Could you help? --Princesunta (talk) 11:50, 9 May 2008 (UTC)
Re: Deletion of non-orphaned redirect pages
Thanks for the heads-up and I apologize for any inconvenience. Ironically, linking them on my talk page will prevent them from being labelled orphaned in the future. : - ) Cheers. --MZMcBride (talk) 18:23, 10 May 2008 (UTC)
- Yeah, that's true. Generally, redirects are never considered orphaned unless they redirect to a non-existent page. ···日本穣 18:47, 10 May 2008 (UTC)
Userpage
Deepest apologies. I'm more than willing to oblige. It's an extremely rare thing that I edit someone else's userspace (with the exception of User:NoSeptember's admin project); I was merely adding the members of WP:HAU to the required category to ensure that HAU's online/offline mechanism works correctly. Without this category in place, the functionality of HAU is limited. Useight (talk) 05:43, 14 May 2008 (UTC)
- No problem. It just uses some tricky formatting and such, so I prefer to mess it up myself rather than having others do so for me. ···日本穣 05:58, 14 May 2008 (UTC)
- I hope I didn't mess anything up too badly, usually categories are down at the bottom of the page away from the rest of the formatting, but your userpage is way more complex than mine. Obviously, feel free to revert my edits, just know that without that particular category on the page, your entry at WP:HAU won't update automatically. Useight (talk) 06:50, 14 May 2008 (UTC)
Sourcing "Igzex"
Thanks for the reply on MOS. Concerning "igzex", how exactly could that be sourced? I imagine the language iself cannot be claimed as a source. Satoryu (talk) 05:54, 15 May 2008 (UTC)
- If there are any game magazines (or sites) which explain how it's pronounced, that would be a good place to start. ···日本穣 06:01, 15 May 2008 (UTC)
- Why couldn't the language itself not be considered a source? Katakana tell us how the title is to be pronounced. That's a source. 88.161.129.43 (talk) 23:41, 23 May 2008 (UTC)
- If it's in a third-party source such as a magazine, then it could be used. ···日本穣 22:49, 24 May 2008 (UTC)
- Er... What's "it"? The katakana reading is all over the place (the official site, for starters), if that's what you're talking about? 88.161.129.43 (talk) 01:38, 25 May 2008 (UTC)
WP:HAU
Hello again. The Highly Active Users project has gone through a complete revamping per popular demand. We believe this new format will make it easier for new editors to find assistance. However, with the new format, I must again ask you to verify your information on this page. I attempted to translate the data from the old version to the new, but with the extensive changes, I may have made some errors. Thanks again. Useight (talk) 03:55, 16 May 2008 (UTC)
- Thanks. ···日本穣 04:03, 16 May 2008 (UTC)

Removing Comments
The comment I removed is my own. As Cardinal Raven. I was getting ready for bed and I removed my comment I didn't feel like logging in for something like that. I knew my question wasn't something for the reference desk. It was just my emotional response.
Always

- Okay, though if it was a computer near where you sleep, why don't you just stay logged in? Seems that would be easier (not that logging in takes more than 30 seconds (if even that). ···日本穣 02:56, 17 May 2008 (UTC)
User:198.85.213.1
This user, 198.85.213.1 (talk · contribs · deleted contribs · page moves · block user · block log), is not listening and reverting edits again. I've already reminded him about edit warring, but it seems does not listen, he again reverted valid reverts on Makie Sasaki and especially Mobile Suit Gundam SEED: The Movie. He's getting on everybody's nerves now. Clearly WP:BRD will never work with this editor. You can also take a look his reverts at Chachamaru Karakuri and Evangeline A.K. McDowell.
I hope regardless of whether you are aware of the subjects of the two articles or not, you will do something about this. This user's edits are now becoming desctrutive. I've already tried WP:AN/I, but so far, it has gotten no response.
What can you about this user? Can this address be blocked because of his actions? I hope you respond ASAP. - 上村七美 (Nanami-chan) | talkback | contribs 07:41, 17 May 2008 (UTC)

Steve Lavin
I am a friend of Steve Lavin's and I have been posting a picture of him on his page, Steve_Lavin, but the image keeps getting removed. I have been given permission by Mr. Lavin to use this picutre for this site. I was wondering what I would need to do to make sure his image is not deleted. Also, in the past couple of months, there has been a lot of changes made to his page by users who are using personal comments or vandilism. I was wondering what is the best way to monitor his page to make sure that his page stays in tact? —Preceding unsigned comment added by Frankiev (talk • contribs) 02:09, 20 May 2008 (UTC)
- If you have permission from him, and he owns the copyright to the image, then you need to have him write to the Wikimedia Foundation at permissions-en@wikimedia.org. He will need to release the image under the GFDL and/or under a Creative Commons license acceptable to the foundation. ···日本穣 02:19, 20 May 2008 (UTC)
MfD close reverted
FYI, your close of the MfD for WP:School_threats has been reverted (again). Avruch 02:36, 20 May 2008 (UTC)
- Again? I've only ever closed it once (outside of closing it again when you added your comment after it was closed). ···日本穣 02:53, 20 May 2008 (UTC)
- Sorry for being unclear - it had been closed, reverted, closed and reverted prior to you closing it. Avruch 03:07, 20 May 2008 (UTC)
- No problem. ···日本穣 03:22, 20 May 2008 (UTC)
User Kittymitty999
I've filed a sockpuppet report on blocked user Happyone2 (talk · contribs) because I've suspected that Kittymitty999 (talk · contribs) is its sockpuppet because of the similarity of MO. Can you look into my report as well as this user? Thank you. - 上村七美 (Nanami-chan) | talkback | contribs 09:10, 20 May 2008 (UTC)
An editor I need help with
I found you through Wikiproject Japan. I was wondering if you knew someone who maybe could adopt User:Electric Japan. I don't speak Japanese, and he doesn't speak English very well. It's difficult for me to explain things to him. He has conflicts with other editors about material he's been adding to various articles. Let me know. Thanks, Enigma 16:47, 23 May 2008 (UTC)
- I can try, but there may be others who may be more helpful in this. ···日本穣 22:07, 31 May 2008 (UTC)
WP:HAU
Hello yet again. I regretfully inform you that the bot we were using to update the user status at Misplaced Pages:Highly Active Users, SoxBot V, was blocked for its constant updating. With this bot out of operation, a patch is in the works. Until that patch is reviewed and accepted by the developers, some options have been presented to use as workarounds: 1) Qui monobook (not available in Internet Explorer); 2) User:Hersfold/StatusTemplate; 3) Manually updating User:StatusBot/Status/USERNAME; or 4) Not worry about it and wait for the patch to go through, which hopefully won't take long. If you have another method, you can use that, too. If you have any questions, feel free to contact me. Useight (talk) 17:43, 3 June 2008 (UTC)
Proposed deletion of Shōjo (disambiguation)
A proposed deletion template has been added to the article Shōjo (disambiguation), suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process. All contributions are appreciated, but this article may not satisfy Misplaced Pages's criteria for inclusion, and the deletion notice should explain why (see also "What Misplaced Pages is not" and Misplaced Pages's deletion policy). You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}}
notice, but please explain why you disagree with the proposed deletion in your edit summary or on its talk page.
Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised because even though removing the deletion notice will prevent deletion through the proposed deletion process, the article may still be deleted if it matches any of the speedy deletion criteria or it can be sent to Articles for Deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached. Do you want to opt out of receiving this notice? Leo Laursen – ☏ ⌘ 20:58, 5 June 2008 (UTC)
Blade of the Phantom Master
You've edited the article, so I come to here your help. I think you already saw the dispute and WP:RFC at the page, but I don't know why you're calm on this. ocn.ne.jp ISP user(s) has vandalised the manhwa article earlier several times and keeps removing Korean mention in the lead at Blade of the Phantom Master along with the banned Azukimonaka (talk · contribs). The article originally mentioned the Korean manhwa, not manga until last June. Besides, an obvious sock of the anon appeared at the article as User:Jazz81089 after his long break 8 months, so I need your input on this. Thanks. --Appletrees (talk) 21:22, 5 June 2008 (UTC)
