Some comments

Okay, there seems to be a problem here with citing sources on all of the John Kricfalusi and Ren & Stimpy articles. Some of these articles have "no sources" tags. Adding info to articles without source links makes it very hard to differentiate between info that is real, and material that is made up. I know that there's a lot of info here on these articles that is real, that's just unsourced. If anyone knows, for instance, URLs for webpages where John K. made some of the statements quoted and used for information in these articles, please link to them. For instance, John's blog seems to be the source of some of these quotes, so if there's a bit of info from there, link to it with a reference tag. See: Misplaced Pages:Citing sources. If an extremely dedicated and informed fan can do this, it would be truly helpful. Thanks. (Ibaranoff24 23:08, 15 July 2006 (UTC))

There use to be a page about Ren And Stimpy The Movie which I can not find anymore. Could someone look up if this a real thing and if the page needs to be brought back.

Okay. Yah know how John K. got fired because Ren and Stimpy was a LITTLE too violent? Yah well after he got fired, Ren and Stimpy got SUPER violent and SUPER gross. I think Nickelodeon just hated John K.8Jungwirth3839300 20:55, 26 September 2007 (UTC)

Slanted view

Hmm. A couple things here seem sort of slanted. Maybe it should be edited to meet Misplaced Pages neutrality standards? --Lettuceclock 04:44, 2 August 2006 (UTC)

>> Would it be 'slanted' to point out that John K is a prima-donna who can't meet a deadline, and thus killed the original R&S show? Congrats John! Great job. Thanks a million. (No sir, I don't like him!)

Question

Which episode was an obvious parody of Darwin's Galapogas Islands? Rintrah 09:13, 12 September 2006 (UTC)

That was "Untamed World", Season 1, EP 5. Now another question: What is Stipmy's breed? American Short-Hair? I remember he was called a "Cornish Rex Hound" in the dog-show parody "Dog Show" (paired with "Big Baby Scam"). I guess that's the 2 best choices. Adult Cartoon Party Quotes

I just wanted to say thjat I think the quotes from the Adult Cartoon Party episode Ren Seeks Help should be tooking away It contains lots of profainty and I find it inaproproit. Sonic34 13:16, 13 November 2006 (UTC)Sonic 34

Extremely Confusing

I consider myself to be at least a fairly intelligent person, and I have to say the history of the show in this article is extremely confusing. Without looking at the DVD list or episode list, for instance, there's no way to discern how long the show ran. Very confusing. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 69.142.140.177 (talk) 11:33, 19 January 2007 (UTC).

Cleanup

This is a bit of a todo for my own purposes, but I would also like others input on them.

  • I'm thinking we should split the Music section into Music of Ren and Stimpy which can also include the Ren and Stimpy Sing portion.
  • Episode status is really redundant, in more ways than one
  • Episode list Should probably be split
  • Some Supporting Characters have articles in multiple places that need merging: Mr. Horse , Ren and Stimpy Show characters
  • Video games and Comic books need to be under Ren and Stimpy in other Media
  • Ren & Stimpy on DVD should be changed to Ren & Stimpy on Home Video with subcategories of the various current bits.

Characters other than Ren and Stimpy

I feel that this section could benefit greatly by being split up into several sub-sections; i.e. frequently recurring characters, minor characters, and memorable one-offs (characters that appeared only once in the series but played a key role in that episode. --Goldrushcavi 02:06, 22 July 2006 (UTC)

I suggest limited this page for frequently recurring characters and moving all others to the already created Ren and Stimpy Show characters page. If there are no objections, I'll do this in a few days.
--Antsh 23:29, 4 December 2006 (UTC)
The best solution is to put the full details of all characters (including Ren and Stimpy) onto the new page leaving a breif description of the frequently recurring characters here. I've have subsumed Main characters and Characters other than Ren and Stimpy under Characters & replaced the split tag with a merge tag. Jimp 07:46, 7 March 2007 (UTC) I have done this bringing the article down to 35KB. Jimp 07:03, 8 March 2007 (UTC) Here's a better explanation. I've merged the sections Main characters and Supporting characters to Ren and Stimpy Show characters. I've left a breif summary under the title Characters with a link to the main article. Jimp 01:39, 9 March 2007 (UTC)

Splitting the article

There's a suggestion in the main article that the supporting characters section be split into its own article. I vote for "No." Although I am a huge TV animation fan, I don't necessarily believe that every character, setting, episode, etc., of "The Simpsons" (or "Futurama" or "Family Guy". etc., etc.) deserves or requires its own wikipedia article. I vote for consolidation, so long as it doesn't create articles that are unusable large.PurpleChez 20:56, 17 February 2007 (UTC)

It has created an article which is unusably large. The simplest solution is to split the article but if you want to trim it instead ... Jimp 07:48, 7 March 2007 (UTC) Though I do agree that we don't need articles of individual characters. I think I've found a decent solution. Jimp 01:25, 9 March 2007 (UTC)

Höek!

Ren's name is Höek, not Høek! Elil

Behind the scenes is SEVERELY lacking

This is an extremely disappointing article in regards to the backstory of the John K produced R & S episodes and the departure of John K. Honestly a reader would have ZERO idea that there was even any politics at play during or after the departure. Since may fans of the show do not even regard the post-John product from Nick as part of the series it would seem like an important series of events to explain to the public. Also of note was a meeting of Billy West and John K live on the Howard Stern show years later and the fact that John K offered West the Stimpy voice again on the Spike version of the series--anahna-mouse 15:57, 25 June 2007 (PST)

A source that could be used: Jerry Beck's Not Just Cartoons: Nicktoons!

I found a book in the bookstore called Not Just Cartoons: Nicktoons! by Jerry Beck. I'm not going to buy it and join the project, but I will ask the other members to get the book so that they can add real world information about various fictional characters.

This makes the creation of separate articles for *many* fictional characters feasible. Having information about the development of the character will make the articles satisfy Misplaced Pages:Notability (fiction)

In this case, the source has a lot of information about Ren and Stimpy and one could possibly write separate articles for each character. WhisperToMe (talk) 02:32, 25 December 2007 (UTC)

Summer 2008 Return!?

Wait just a god damn minute. When was it confirmed that the show is returning in Summer 2008!? If it's true, I am EXTREMELY happy..It is one of my favorite shows. Powdered Toast man is win. So yeah. Source? -Rikara (talk) 21:13, 20 January 2008 (UTC)

I searched on Google... Everywhere, and I couldn't find anything that said the show was going to come back. It's just a rumor... A lie.

Watch your language Rikara. I know your happy, and Im very, very happy too, but I find "God damn" very offensive. Gregory E. Miller (talk) 22:58, 15 May 2008 (UTC))

Show

I think the show shouldn't come back this summer. It was way too innopropriate... That's why they cancelled it.

Even if John wanted the show back, Nickelodeon hates him and the show. Thats why they shunned it and put it on the latest time slot on Nicktoons Network. Besides, Spumco is shut down, John is working on other projects, and he would never ever bring it back because Nickelodeon gave him hardly any creative control. Now that that is out of the way, I have a dihlema. A little while back on ether the Adult Swim page, or the Ren and Stimpy Adult Party Cartoon page, a scentence said that they might be showing APC on Adult Swim. Is that true? Gregory E.
