The Great American Freedom Machine
Motion City did not play under this name in th ebamboozle tour 2007, the band Glassjaw was rumored to play under this name. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Tgreensuno (talk • contribs) 15:26, 19 December 2007 (UTC)
Colombia fan base
I removed the reference to Colombia as a country with a strong fan base for MCS. I could not find any radio stations in Colombia whom have played songs by MCS with any relevant frequency; or that have them in their regular rotations for that matter. Furthermore, movement of MCS cds is slow in South America in general. The user who added that contribution probably needs to understand that the small, elite group of English speakers he and his friends belongs to does not speak for a country of over 56 million. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 72.193.83.247 (talk) 21:56, 31 August 2007 (UTC)
HELLO THIS BAND IS FUCKING AWESOME
New Wave
Ummm under wiki's definition i dont think MCS are new wave, I think powerpop fits them perfectly, new wave is not really needed. Koala72 09:28, 26 June 2007 (UTC)
band's picture
why does the band's picture keep disappearing? (ZookPS3 16:04, 4 July 2007 (UTC))
Maybe whatever picture was up there was copyrighted and not allowed to be posted? Does anyone out there have an adequate picture to share that the have copyrights to? -- Molly1984 20:05, 10 July 2007 (UTC)
the only decent one probably doesn't have a copyright so it can't be uploaded. -- ZookPS3 00:22, 12 July 2007 (UTC)
mcs
why was motion city an entirely different band formerly? wtf happened? is it 2 different bands or something, i am so confused.
Justin and Joshua have been with the band their entire career, and Jesse Johnson was the only one to ever play synth (even though he joined later) actually Justin used to play synth. thats why they got jesse
influences
how about an influences section? i've spotted at least two references to seminal indie/emo bands on the "commit this to memory album", and i'm sure there are more:
1) in the song "hold me down", pierre sings "you're the reason why I burst and why I bloom" which i believe is a reference to cursive's album "burst and bloom"
2) in the song "let's get fucked up and die", he sings "I want to thank you for being a part of my forget-me-nots and marigolds/and other things that don't get old/is it legal to do this? i surely don't know/it's the only way I have learned to express myself, through other peoples' descriptions of life" which is obviously a reference to the promise ring's song "forget me", where von bohlen sings "Where forget-me-nots and marigolds and other things that don't get old…" —Preceding unsigned comment added by 68.106.121.77 (talk) 05:38, August 27, 2007 (UTC)
stand against crowd violence
i just went to an mcs concert and it was my first one, but justin mentioned inbetween songs that people moshing should stop, and instead take after the japanese and hold hands and dance in a circle then hug afterwards. this was lighthearted but serious, then later in the show, he stopped in the middle of a song to tell a guy to stop jumping around and acting like a general idiot. he asked security to get the guy so he could talk some sense into him. is this a common theme, or just an isolated incidence? 3rd Single off of Even if it Kills Me?
According to here, it is "Even if it Kills Me (song)" Though i have not seen any evidenceo of this. "It Had to Be You" has just had a stop-motion video made for it, would this not make it the 3rd single off the album? (or maybe 4th, if "Eiikm" was an actual single). kiac (talk) 10:50, 19 February 2008 (UTC)
