Genetics and dogs

A very cool article about how dogs are related and it's not always what we think, based on research done by the geneticist who started the Canine Genome Project: Genetics and the Shape of Dogs; Studying the new sequence of the canine genome shows how tiny genetic changes can create enormous variation within a single species in 'The American Scientist', http://www.americanscientist.org. With a chart.

Tuscany Dog Project

A current research project involving packs of semi-feral dogs running around in a park in Italy. Can't find much in English about it. http://de.wikipedia.org/Tuscany_Dog_Project on German Misplaced Pages. It would be interesting to know what they are finding out about dog behaviour when the dogs aren't referencing humans... but does it matter?

Tuscany Dog Project

Did you mean to create this in article space? --Bfigura 22:54, 28 April 2008 (UTC)

I asked as it would appear that the page is meant to organize the translation project. (As opposed to being the translated content). If it's the former, then I think you want to move it to Misplaced Pages:Tuscany Dog Project. Best, --Bfigura 23:02, 28 April 2008 (UTC)

5/8 DYK

Updated DYK query On 8 May, 2008, Did you know? was updated with a fact from the article Dog type, which you created or substantially expanded. If you know of another interesting fact from a recently created article, then please suggest it on the Did you know? talk page.

Championship (dog)

This is an automated message from CorenSearchBot. I have performed a web search with the contents of Championship (dog), and it appears to be very similar to another wikipedia page: Champion (dog). It is possible that you have accidentally duplicated contents, or made an error while creating the page— you might want to look at the pages and see if that is the case.

This message was placed automatically, and it is possible that the bot is confused and found similarity where none actually exists. If that is the case, you can remove the tag from the article and it would be appreciated if you could drop a note on the maintainer's talk page. CorenSearchBot (talk) 17:41, 9 June 2008 (UTC)

BBC

'Majority of pedigrees healthy' Interesting.

Non-dog dogs

I was tagging it because it seemed unlikely, but yes, I was interested. Thanks for taking the time to tell me that--it is one of the most interesting things I've learned for a while! Movingboxes (talk) 04:13, 29 August 2008 (UTC)

FYI

Hafwyn, you may want to be aware that the dog projects appear to now be getting dragged into a much larger, um, "situation." See , , and then (last 2-3 paras in particular). Longstanding problems here, latest round. Not asking you to do anything in particular, just want you to be aware of the bigger picture. Oh and also may want to note and Yes, I guess I AM begging for sympathy. Feel free to reply on this talk page, I think mine is watchlisted by said party. Or just dive for cover, may be the wiser course of action. LOL! Montanabw 03:46, 23 November 2008 (UTC)
