Nikmat HaTraktor (Hebrew: נקמת הטרקטור, lit. Tractor's Revenge) is an Israeli rock band, established in 1988 in Tel Aviv by Avi Balali and Ofir Leibovitz - the singer and bass player, and the guitarist, respectively. The other band members include Eyal Parson Shachar, keyboard, and Aviv Barak, drums. The band's name is an ode to the famous PortiSacharof (another popular Israeli rock band) song from the same year of their establishment (1988), with the same name.

History

After being rejected by a number of record labels, the band was finally signed by Nana Records. Their debut album, Nikmat HaTraktor, was released in 1990. It was produced by Bari Sacharof (of the aforementioned band PortiSacharof), and contained a number of their hits, the prominent ones including: Mischak Shel Dma'ot (lit. The Crying Game), Adon HaSelichot (lit. Master of Forgiveness) based on the Sephardic Jewish incantation bearing the same name, and Afifonim (lit. Kites) - the Hebrew cover version of Simon Dupree and the Big Sound's song.

Nikmat HaTraktor had much success in Israel and abroad appearing with the Batsheva Dance Company in their "Kir" production, which Nikmat HaTraktor wrote the music for.
