In recognition & thanks for your efforts in helping us work our way towards consensus towards making Battle of Washita River a good WP:NPOV (instead of WP:SOAP) article. Still a lotta work to do, but now we can do it, in no small part because of your help. Yksin

Just be glad you're on the good side, every time I get involved in situations like that, I seem to be the one getting arrested... (kidding, please don't report me Mr. Thoughtpolice-man! :) +Hexagon1
I was surprised to see that this talk page had been deleted and restored in order to hide some deleted content. The article has long been the subject of intense interest by contributors who claim no connection with Warnborough, but seem to devote many waking hours to editing the article to place the school in the best possible light, as well as from contributors (such as User:Warnborough) who have a clear and acknowledged interest in either building it up or tearing it down. Due to this history, the deletion caused my antennae to go up, as I am ready to suspect shenanigans (for example, by interested parties trying to manipulate via OTRS)... May I ask what happened? --Orlady (talk) 17:54, 19 January 2009 (UTC)
There was an attempted WP:OUTING by one of the editors on that talk page. The outing edit was deleted, which necessitated deleting the entire page and restoring all but the outing edits. I've also notified an Oversight admin to review and oversight the deleted edit. Dreadstar†18:20, 19 January 2009 (UTC)
You wouldn't be able to see the outing, as it was deleted. An oversight admin will be checking. As WP:OUTING states: "attempted outing is grounds for an immediate block." Dreadstar†18:25, 19 January 2009 (UTC)
Ah, but as an admin and I can see the deleted content (not yet oversighted). The only name used by Fladrif on the talk page is a name used within the article. It's also a name previously listed on User:Warnborough's user page. I don't think this is a case of outing, especially with the wording of Fladrif's edit. - auburnpilottalk18:27, 19 January 2009 (UTC)
lol...actually, due to the editing conflict, I thought I was responding to Orlady, who isn't an admin...sorry... :) Dreadstar†
This is definitely an outing incident. The editor was "guessing" the name of another editor participating on the talk page; the blocked editor even admits to it; and whether or not this same name is used in the article is irrelevant, and I'm thinking that even your comment about the location of the name is borderline WP:OUTING. If you want further details, I recommend you email me. Dreadstar†18:30, 19 January 2009 (UTC)
Email sent. Since the editor has shown remorse and has promised not to do it again, I won't object to you unblocking. Dreadstar†18:37, 19 January 2009 (UTC)
