The cuban sandwich is a popular meal in south Florida where many Cubans have immigrated since the early 20th century. The standard cuban sandwich consists of shredded ham and roast pork (marinated in mojo sauce), mayonaisse, mustard, pickles, and cheese on cuban bread. The sandwich is buttered and pressed until toasted.
