After mucking about in the world of journalism, Gaiman was picked up by DC comics editor Karen Berger to revive the series "Black Orchid." His best-known work is the Sandman comics series, which chronicles the adventures of Dream, the personification of the human imagination. Gaiman has also written numberous novels, including "Neverwhere," "Stardust," GoodOmens (with TerryPrachett), and, most recently, "AmericanGods." He also wrote a collection of short stories, "SmokeAndMirrors."
