Les Brown (March 14, 1912 - January 24, 2001) and his Band of Renown were a big band from the 1940s which continued from the big band era into the 1950s. One of the major distinctions of the Brown band was that it brought Doris Day into prominence with her recording with the band of Sentimental Journey in 1945.
