Rosh Penin is a character in the fictional Star Wars Expanded Universe.

He is a young human Jedi featured in the computer game Jedi Knight: Jedi Academy. He befriends Jaden Korr and is one of Kyle Katarn's apprentices at the Jedi Academy on Yavin IV.

While taking part in an investigation on Byss with the Jedi Academy regarding a cult called the Disciples of Ragnos, Rosh is captured. Later he is found by Jaden Korr and Kyle Katarn inside the late Darth Vader's Bast Castle on Vjun, stealing Force energy with the Scepter of Ragnos under Tavion's order. They find that Rosh had been turned to the dark side and becomes the new apprentice of Dark Jedi Tavion, who is the mastermind behind the cult. Rosh engages Jaden in a lightsaber duel but loses, and Tavion saves him.

A distress signal from Rosh is later picked up by Katarn and Korr, and it leads them to Taspir III where a large facility of the Imperial Remnant is located. Jaden finds Rosh before Kyle and is furious at him for his betrayal. Rosh tries to tell Jaden that he made a mistake, via the Force Kyle also warns Jaden not to give into anger. The player can then choose to let Rosh live and remain on the path of light, or kill Rosh and turn to the dark side.

  • If Jaden spare Rosh's life, the young Jedi survives but loses his arm when Alora, Tavion's apprentice, attacks him before engaging Jaden in a heated lightsaber duel. Rosh later receives a new cybernetic arm back on Yavin IV after the ultimate defeat of the cult, Tavion and Marka Ragnos.
  • If Jaden turns to the dark side, Jaden stabs him in the abdomen and leaves him for dead. Shortly after Jaden kills the Alora and leaves the facility, Kyle finds Rosh near death, before he dies, Kyle grants Rosh the rank of Jedi.

In tradition, the light side ending should be canon, although no particular information has been released.
