Perth is the most isolated capital city in the world, and has a population of 1.5 million people.
Perth is a magnificent cosmopolitan city, set on the Swan River. It is a very spread-out city, extending to Joondalup in the north, Mandurah in the south and Midland in the east.
There's plenty to do in Perth. Throughout the summer season, (Christmas time) the theme park 'Adventure World' is open, with a wide range of rides, from the high-intensity 'Rampage', to the swinging ship 'Bounty's Revenge' and the terrifying water slide 'Tunnel of Terror'. Adventure World is located in Bibra Lake.
Perth also has many cinemas. The major cinema chains in Perth are 'Hoyts' and 'Greater Union', with complexes located throughout the city. Hoyts has a huge complex at the Westfield Carousel shopping centre in Cannington. Greater Union has a large complex located in the suburb of Innaloo. There are many other cinemas around Perth. To find session times and cinema locations, visit:

Alternatively, visit the tranquil, pristing environment at Rottnest Island, Perth's own holiday island, 17 kilometres off the coast near Fremantle. Accessible by aeroplane or by ferry, the island is as close to perfect as you could think is possible. Pristine sandy beaches give way to clear blue waters. The accomodation on the island ranges from camping grounds to old, low-budget bungalows, to recently renovated villas with ocean views, to the superb luxury of the Rottnest Lodge, with swimming pools, exquisite restaurants and deluxe rooms. Rottnest really is a great place.
