I sometimes rely on Misplaced Pages to learn about unfamiliar technical areas, and I find it to be an acceptable source for most topics. But when I found some of the discussions regarding contentious points, I became doubtful of the reliability of the process. That's the main reason I became involved as an editor, to see if I could create an influence that would result in a more productive, courteous, and less personally biased method of editing.
