Hello
Hi again Axmann. Just so you know, overly political expressions are a bit frowned upon on userpages. It's not that they're forbidden, just that it might not be a good idea. Misplaced Pages is a global enterprise, with users of many different opinions, backgrounds and cultures. At the same time, the common goal for everyone here is writing an encyclopedia, that is meant to be free of political and cultural biases. One way of helping that effort is to be voluntarily restrictive in expressing your opinions here. (Misplaced Pages is far from the only site on the net; if you're interested in politics there are many far better sites). henrik•talk 08:46, 15 March 2009 (UTC)
- Axmann8, I came here to talk to you about your recent contributions on the request of henrik. Your basic premise is faulty and I think it would serve everyone well if you just stayed away from Obama-related articles for anything other than non-controversial changes (if someone misspells the word "the", correcting it is not something substantial). Your basic views are the same as mine: conservatism. There is no reason you can't use your energies to edit articles appropriately on Misplaced Pages. I would suggest working on improving a G.O.P.-related article and try to get it to Featured Article status, no easy task for a current politician. If it is featured, then you could potentially get it featured on the main page (perhaps the GOP itself!). In any case, the nomination you've made isn't going to pass. We allow people to express their general views without being a nuisance or actively using Misplaced Pages for political purposes (thereby violating its nonprofit status), so I think your user page is fine as long as you don't add links like "Here's where you can donate to XYZ's campaign" or "Here's some of the campaign literature". In short, just dial the rhetoric back a notch and you'll be fine on Misplaced Pages. — BQZip01 — 18:07, 15 March 2009 (UTC)
Hi
Hey, thanks for nominating my userbox for deletion. I see now how "bias" it is, even though you have a picture of Sarah Palin on your userpage with the year 2012. Seriously. You don't like a userbox, don't put it on your page. Don't worry; I made some political blunders when I started on Misplaced Pages.- JustPhil 15:57, 15 March 2009 (UTC)
Deletion nominations
Please make sure you have read all and understood all of the relevant policy on deletions before jumping in so suddenly into nominating articles and other items for deletion. Deletion is a last resort on Misplaced Pages and the area can consequently be fraught with possibilities for controversy and in causing offense to other editors. Your history on voting on these items is only a few days long and your inexperience in applicable WP policy is evident from your short explanations and occasional misuse of terms in your voting comments. Given your contributions history, this userbox deletion nomination appears to be politically motivated, and could easily be taken as WP:POINT. Given your history of blocks for disruptive editing in related areas, making deletion nominations under these circumstances is definitely to be avoided. I strongly recommend that if you want to get involved in deletions, you start off with with working in non controversial areas to familiarize yourself with the processes and policies. WP:ANI
I'll go a step farther than the above and let you know that I have added to the comments on ANI, that you have violated the grounds on which Henrik unblocked you. In my opinion, you have stomped on Henrik's good faith, and something needs to be done. Baseball Bugs carrots 18:16, 15 March 2009 (UTC)
