Kalibo is a 1st class municipality in the province of Aklan, Philippines. Located in the northwestern portion of Panay Island, it is the capital municipality of Aklan. According to the 2000 census, it has a population of 62,438 people in 12,628 households. The nearest cities to Kalibo are Roxas City in Capiz, and Iloilo City in Iloilo. Both are accessible by bus and minivans.

Kalibo is best known as the venue of the Ati-atihan festival. It is also the gateway to Boracay island, which is just 45 minutes away by land transport from the nearest port, Caticlan. It is also a regional center for the northwest section of Panay Island, providing commercial, educational, and medical services unavailable in the smaller towns and villages nearby.

The term Kalibo was derived from the local dialect "sangka libo", that translates to "one thousand", the number of inhabitants when the Datus from Borneo came.

Kalibo is accessible from Manila by plane through the Kalibo Airport, about ten minutes away from the main plaza, or by ship through the Dumaguit or New Washington Ports on the northern tip of Aklan. Public transportation around town is by tricycle.
