Benjamin J. Chambers (April 13, 1823 - July 16, 1902) was a Texas politician of the Gilded Age. He unsuccessfully ran for Vice President on the ticket of the Greenback Labor Party and James Baird Weaver in 1880. The pair received only 3.3% of the popular vote and no electoral votes. At the nominating convention, Chambers received 403 votes for Vice President while Absolom M. West received only 311. He ran for President in 1880, seeking the Greenback Party nomination, and he ran again in 1884, seeking the Populist nomination, both unsuccessful attempts. He died on July 16, 1902, aged 79 of heart problems, following years of declining health.
