Capella University is an online academic institution accredited by the Higher Learning Commission and a member of the North Central Association of Colleges and Schools.

Founded in 1993 by Stephen Shank, who ran Tonka, to serve working adults and employers, Capella University offers degree programs and certificates in business, technology, education, human services and psychology.

Today, the university serves more than 12,000 enrolled adult learners from all 50 states and more than 50 countries. Central to Capella's approach are achievement-oriented learners, expert faculty, and a university staff that is passionate about each individual's success. Capella University is headquartered in Minneapolis, Minnesota.
