Misplaced Pages:Articles for deletion/Children of the Prime Ministers of Canada
I'm not sure whether or not we are counting the days the same way. The way I see it, Feb. 6, 2006 was his 1st day in office, Feb. 5, 2007 was his 365th day, and Feb. 6, 2007 was his 366, which translates to 1 year and 1 day. You had 367 days translating to 1 year and 1 day, so I was wondering if that was a typo or whether we are adding up these numbers differently. --Arctic Gnome (talk • contribs) 02:05, 7 February 2007 (UTC)
I think we might be adding them up differently. Feb 5, 2007 was his 365th day in office, but that is still not a complete year. There are 365 days in a year, but when it his 366 days, then it is a complate year, starting a new year. Feb 6, 2007 was Harper's one year in office, Feb 7 was Harper's 1 year and one day. So for the incumbency in days you are including the current day and for the calendar length you are only including completed days. While there is a certain logic to that, I think it's looks weird to see "367 day = 1 year + 1 day" when that mathematically doesn't make sense. IMHO both numbers should use the same system, and since the other PM's times include the last day for both, Harper's should too. If we want to not include the last day, than both numbers should not include it and all the other PMs numbers should be changed as well. --Arctic Gnome (talk • contribs) 04:16, 8 February 2007 (UTC)
In fact, it looks like government references do not include the last day. I'll change the other PM's to match the shorter version you use. I have now standardized all of the calculations based on the Library of Parliament's website. By that standard, the last day of a term is not counted. If you want, we can make the incumbents current day count, meaning we'd add one day to Harper. How it is now, the incumbency in days column works the same way that the calendar incumbency column works. Sorry to be leaving so much junk on your page, but I've gone back and forth with the way the numbers are calculated because of some contradictory information on the government's website. It seems that you and I have spent more time making our list right than they have :). I have clarified my method of calculation on the bottom of the page. I still think the days for Harper is wrong (not total days). There are 365 days in one year. Once you hit 365 days in a year, it is now a new year, but the last day of the first year. February 6 is Harper's first year, but according to this, his first year anniversary was on February 5, which is wrong. SFrank8515:08, 9 February 2007 (UTC)
His anniversary is on the 6th, sure. However, the list counts both the first and the last days as full days (except for the day when power is transfered at the end of terms). You are trying to include the last day in the total days column and not include the last day in the other column; and it's confusing to have the columns not use the same system. When we include all of Feb. 6 '06 and all of Feb. 5 '07; as of and including Feb. 5th he had been in power for 365 full days: 1 year. Including all of Feb. 6 '07, he has been in power for 366 full days: 1 year and 1 day. This is how the calculator that I used to add up these numbers works ; you can tell it to not count the last day, but when you do that it takes off the last day from both the length by days and by years. To list it your way, with the days and calendar columns not adding up, we would have to specify that the 367th day equates to 1 year and 1 day. --Arctic Gnome (talk • contribs) 15:50, 9 February 2007 (UTC)
Trailer Park Boys
I thought it very odd to see Trailer Park Boys listed as a favourite show, knowing the Salvation Army's stance on alcohol, drugs, profanity and otherwise immoral activities, as they define them. I was a Salvationist from birth until I left in 1998. Not that I wish to judge, but I can't watch that show, mostly due to the constant profanity that grates. Ice Hockey Project discussion of hockey player notability and project scope

The purpose of this newsletter is to update on the goings on of the project, as there have been major changes, and a lot of new recognized content in the past few weeks. If you are an inactive user, you probably won't recognize the new and improved state of the WikiProject!
In the past few weeks, there has been quite heated discussion about the use of diacritics in article name. The current guideline is using diacritics in the pages of articles of all player names which require them, but redirects are exempt.
This task force was initiated by Krm500. Its current goal is to improve Henrik Lundqvist to Good or Featured article status. It covers all Swedish clubs, leagues and competitions and associated articles, players and coaches that are Swedish, or have played/coached for a Swedish club, and arenas in Sweden. They plan to eventually operate as a sort of a sub-project, which will have its own articles for creation, ranking importance and quality of articles, and co-ordinate article improvement. Its current members are Krm500, Bamsefar75, and CLAES.

After discussion on the WikiProject talk page, Serte created a page for Requested Images. The page encourages users to license images for use on articles. The page also has section to request images for players, arenas, game situations, miscellaneous, and team and league logos. The page has been quite popular; since it was created on July 21, there have been six completed requests. There are four currently outstanding requests:

On July 12, Kaiser matias announced that he had completed assessing all the articles with a {{ice hockey}} tag, sorting them into Category:Unassessed Ice Hockey articles. Kaiser matias has ranked about 9000 articles in that category, and most were stubs, and "have no information at all", according to him. Everybody is encouraged to expand the stubs into real articles. This effort took around 5 months. A big thanks goes to Kaiser matias from me and all the project.

Especially due to the featured topic drive, there have been many new featured lists promoted concerning NHL awards. Here's the full list of all the 13 FL's promoted since the last newsletter.
The last one, List of Calgary Flames players, is the only one not associated with the featured topic drive.
At the time of publishing, there were 5 lists at WP:FLC and 2 lists in the "Holding cell", as there's been an accepted guideline to not put more that 5 trophy lists at the same time to, "compensate for the sanity of the reviewers".
Check the project page if you are interested in helping out. Although it's closer to being done than not, there's still work to be done. The next topic that might be tackled is Stanley Cup, but this remains purely speculative and in discussion.

Welcome to the inaugural edition of the WikiProject Professional wrestling newsletter! I hope this will be a good source of news to those people interested in what's happening around our pro wrestlimg community. I plan to release it every Sunday.
This newsletter will just be a way to get the community announcements to people who don't have the time to check the mesageboards, as well that to those just curious about the news. The newsleter will consist of a project news section (to do with what's happening on Misplaced Pages), and a current events section (relating to news in the "real world"). The newslette will also contain the Collaboration of the Week announcement.
That's all. If you have any feedback or suggestions, please post them at this talk page.
I just wanted to know if you're able to take a picture of St. Mark's Coptic Orthodox Church in Toronto. You can find out the street address online (the links to those websites are on the image pages). The current images are, unfortunately, copyrighted, as I was the one who uploaded them.
The current (copyrighted) images may get deleted, so if they do, then I'll need to replace them.
I need you or somebody else to take a picture, release its copyright, and upload it onto Misplaced Pages. I HAVE contacted others to notify them also, so if there are more than one pictures, that's OK (I can still make an article on them). Anyways, we had a lot of good feedback for the last newsletter. We not only received feedback at the newsletter's talk page, but I also received some messages on my talk page as well. Several wrestling news sites report that former Total Nonstop Action Wrestling stars Ron Killings and Chris Harris have been in talks with WWE. In addition The Big Show is said to be returning as well. Be on the look out for unsourced claims of these signing being added to their respective articles as well as the WWE Roster article.

There has been numerous new recognized content, so much that it's too time-consuming to sift through the "trophy cases" on WP:HOCKEY. Some interesting achievements:
2016 NHL Draft has been newly created and has immediately become a GA status article.
We are working to create a new task force within the WikiProject to deal with topics related to the Pittsburgh Penguins. It hasn't been created yet; but it aims to expand articles based on former and current Pittsburgh Penguins players and articles. Good luck!
The original featured topic drive, initiated by Scorpion0422, has concluded succesfully. National Hockey League awards is now a featured topic, with 24 articles in total. Of them, 20 are featured lists, one is a featuredarticle, and the other three are trophy articles that were too short to become featured lists. Eight users signed up to help out, shown here. The next Featured Topic hasn't been decided upon, and the ideas and organization for it fell apart. If you have any ideas, don't hesitate to share them at WT:HOCKEY.
More editors are needed to help out with the newsletter. The newsletter creator doesn't have an infinite nor perfect supply of ideas, and thus he might omit some interesting news.

Jeff Hardy was suspended by WWE for 60 days on March 11 for violating WWE's Substance Abuse and Drug Policy. On March 14, he lost his home in, Cameron, North Carolina, late friday night due to a fire. Fire Department officials currently cannot confirm what was the cause of the fire. Reports also say that Jeff's brother, Matt Hardy, saw smoke coming out of Jeff's house. RAWCommentator, Jim Ross, reports on his blog, "He lost essentially every thing he had and most sadly his dog".

At WrestleMania XXIV, Shawn Michaels defeated Ric Flair after executing the Sweet Chin Music, which as a result, meant that Ric Flair was forced to retire from professional wrestling. The next night, at Flair's retirement ceremony on Raw, Triple H congratulated Flair for his 35 year career, and brought out retired and current superstars to thank him. Michaels, and the whole WWE roster came out later to thank him as well.
The Undertaker defeated Edge to become the new World Heavyweight Champion forcing him to submit to the Gogoplata. During the pyro celebration for Undertaker's 16-0 streak, a freak accident occurred just before WrestleMania went off-air. During the pryo shooting to the entrance stage, a firework went to the upper-level section of the crowd on top. Forty-five fans were injured, and currently, WWE is trying to investigate what was the cause of the pyrotechnic malfunction

WWE has invited Democrats running for president, Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama, to Raw to settle their differences in a wrestling match. The invitation video can be found here.
On the April 21 edition of Raw, the King of the Ring tournament will return for one night only. The entire tournament will take place on Raw.

TNA has posted a notice on their official website detailing a release of wrestler Kaz. This has been reported to be kayfabe by numerous other sites, but be prepared to revert edits to Kaz's article regarding this as well as List of Total Nonstop Action Wrestling alumni
The guidelines for writing pay-per-view articles has been updated, see here. The new guidelines should be followed in order for an article to be nominated for Good article or Featured article status.

It was announced on the August 25 television episode of Raw that John Cena had suffered a herniated disc in his neck. Cena received successful surgery the following day, and will be inactive for 2-4 months.

Nathan Jones was injured in Thailand, after he was hit by a truck. Jones had recently signed a deal with TNA, but will now be out for at least 3 months.

It was reported by a Nielsen Media Research ratings report that the February 19 broadcast of TNA's Impact earned a 1.3 television rating, the highest rounded number the promotion has ever drawn.
WWE announced the release of Scotty Goldman from the company.
On an episode of Friday Night SmackDown, WWE announced the return of Gail Kim to the promotion via a video promo.
It was reported on February 21 that Sonjay Dutt had been released from his TNA contract, and this was confirmed with the removal of his profile from TNA's official website.
On February 20, it was reported that Freddie Prinze, Jr., a scriptwriter for Friday Night SmackDown, had been released from his contract with WWE.

On Raw, it was announced that Ricky Steamboat will be the fourth inductee into the WWE Hall of Fame as a part of the Class of 2009; he will be inducted by Ric Flair.

On June 9, WWE reported that Batista had suffered a complete torn left bicep. He underwent surgery to repair it the followingday, and is expected to have at least four months of rehabilitation.
Referee Ted Tanabe died at the age of 46, after suffering a heart attack in the ring the previous night while officiating a match at a live event for Osaka Pro Wrestling.
