FTW (or 4TW) is an initialism meaning for the win or for teh win (sic). Both are commonly used by gamers.
Much like w00t, the acronym began as a gaming term. It usually indicated something that helped in the goal of winning and therefore was "for the win". These days it is more broadly used as meaning a beneficial thing. TTW is also used as a past particple, meaning "takes the win".
Also, FTW can mean Fuck the What?, the reverse of WTF (What the Fuck?)
