Duman is a Turkish pop-rock band which inspires many Turkish teenagers to get involved with Turkish pop-rock. The goup has a unique eastern vocal style with western guitars and drums. Duman consists of Kaan Tangöze (vocals and lead guitar), Batuhan Mutlugil (rhythm guitar and back vocals), and Ari Barokas (bass guitar and back vocals). In early 90s, Kaan lived in Seattle. It was here that he wrote his first song for theTurkish rock band he would form in future. At the time he performed with a band called Mad Madame. When he went back to Turkey, he met Batuhan Mutlugil and Ari Barokas who were performing with a band called Blue Blues Band. Together they formed the band “Duman” (a Turkish word for “smoke”). After some searching for a drummer, they decided to work with out-of-band drummers. They worked with drummer Alen Konakoğlu for a long time until their last album. Duman has recorded four albums one of which is a performance album. They released their first album, “Eski Köprünün Altında” in 1999 and their second, “Belki Alışman Lazım” in 2002. Both albums were great successes in Turkey and inspired the new generation of Turkish rock bands. In 2004, they released their third album, a performance album, “Konser” which was recorded in one of their concerts in Bostancı Gösteri Merkezi (Bostancı Concert Hall), Istanbul. They have just released their fourth album, “Seni Kendime Sakladım” in July, 2005. Their hit tracks include “Köprüaltı”, “Herşeyi Yak”, “Oje”, “Masal”, “Seni Kendime Sakladım” “Aman Aman”.
