Operation Accumulator

I can't find any mention of this operation, so happy to have it deleted, but... how is WP:ATHLETE relevant to this military operation?! Fences&Windows 02:26, 21 June 2009 (UTC)

Date format on Hirohito

I don't have any objection to d-m-y date format in general, and have no problem using it where appropriate, but on Misplaced Pages we should be respectful of the choices of previous editors and not make changes without good reason related to the article's content or conformance with established WP guidelines. WP date format guidelines (WP:DATES) give three criteria:

  1. Consistency within prose proper to a given article: Excepting direct quotations, all the dates in the article should be in either d-m-y or m-d-y format.
  2. Consistency with national custom for article topics associated with a particular English-speaking nation: Not relevant for Hirohito.
  3. Consistency with existing usage: For better or worse, m-d-y has been the predominant format historically used in the article.

At this point, the only way I can think of to justify a general switch from m-d-y to d-m-y for this article would be if someone for unrelated reasons decided to undertake a major rewrite of the article and in the process decided d-m-y was more appropriate, and assuming that the reasons and content of the rewrite were generally acceptable to the WP editors at large.

By the way, judging by your collection of userboxes, I like your politics.
