Re: Portal:Opera and Portal:Finger Lakes

Yes, they are featured. I just haven't got around to list them yet. OhanaUnited 20:07, 6 July 2009 (UTC)

We actually have a bot to do some of the tasks. And if we do the job for the bot, the bot owner will get angry and may withdraw its service. So, try leave the promotion parts to the directors. OhanaUnited 00:14, 7 July 2009 (UTC)

The Bartered Bride

This is now at WP:Peer Review. Any comments would be welcome. The structure is fairly close to the format of Agrippina, our recent joint venture at FAC. Brianboulton (talk) 21:53, 7 July 2009 (UTC)

Per feedback, the image you reviewed now illustrates the biography of the artist and a different image illustrates the History of Jamaica article. You may wish to change your review based upon these alterations. Durova 19:14, 8 July 2009 (UTC)

No problem as things stand - I had no particular intention to use any of the other synopses (some of them written by me, BTW!), and I imagine that Kleinzach would want to get the permission of the author if/when any such occasion arises. As for OTRS, I know less than nothing about it - could you make any necessary links, perhaps in collaboration with User:Moonriddengirl. Best. --GuillaumeTell 13:50, 9 July 2009 (UTC)

CZ Infant colic

What's wrong with Citizendium's infant colic article? Your note isn't very specific. --Cybercobra (talk) 23:19, 9 July 2009 (UTC)

I've added a new column in the WikiProject table for comments and tagged some of yours for elaboration. --Cybercobra (talk) 00:15, 10 July 2009 (UTC)

Is a cleanup possible?

Hi, Shoemaker. I was wondering if it was possible to clean up the sound on , or even if it was worth it. It's the only known episode to survive of a radio show from the 30s, and it has fallen into the public domain. The accompanying article is an FA, and I'd like this file to be, too. Also, would it stand a chance of being promoted at WP:FSC, cleaned or "dirty"? Thanks, Matthewedwards :  Chat  04:39, 10 July 2009 (UTC)

OK, thanks. There's no hugh rush so if you have other commitments it can wait. Matthewedwards :  Chat  04:49, 10 July 2009 (UTC)

I have another Q on something unrelated. When a composer has written/recorded/published a piece of music before 1923, and then it has been re-recorded/reinterpreted/covered after 1923, is that recording copyrightable or is it PD because it's all about the state of the original work? From the Judges

There were a few mistakes in last weeks' newsletter. Apologies about that. In regards to the competition, a few of you shot up in points this week. Very, very impressive. However, now that some have shot up to the top, others of you have to work even harder to catch up! There are about 3 weeks left in the round, so if you're behind, now is really the time to start nominating content, so that it can count for this round. If you wait too long, we won't be able to hold off the round while your content is being reviewed.

Per this tiny poll, the remainder of the competition has been altered.. sorry!! The changes being made are as follows: "We will be combining the last three rounds. Round 4 will now last from August through September, with 8 contestants. On September 1st, however, we will eliminate the bottom four contestants. The top four contestants will continue the round with the same score. Then, one person will win out of the remaining four on September 30th." You can also see this change to the main WikiCup page.

Lastly, we'd like to welcome back Shoemaker's Holiday into the competition! 'weburiedoursecretsinthegarden, iMatthew  at, and The Helpful One

Misplaced Pages:Plot-only description of fictional works

Since you're a major contributor to it, thought you should know there has been talkpage talk of formally proposing it be made policy. So if you have any final edits or comments, now would be a good time. --Cybercobra (talk) 06:59, 14 July 2009 (UTC)

Closure of the lawnmower picture

Hi,

Not sure how I'm supposed to do this, but I would like to respectfully oppose this closure. Sure I only put a neutral vote, but raised an important question that goes further than this picture. I would like community input on this question, and maybe then the vote will be easier for every one else. Regards Ksempac (talk) 09:38, 14 July 2009 (UTC)

WikiCup participates in the Misplaced Pages:The Great Misplaced Pages Dramaout

Hello all, iMatthew here. I just wanted to let you know about "The Great Misplaced Pages Dramaout" which starts this Saturday. The goal of the Dramaout is to spend five days working on improving articles and abstaining from any of Misplaced Pages's drama. I don't think that any of you will have a problem focusing on articles for five days, because of course, any work you get done during the Dramaout will count towards your score in the WikiCup. Details are on the page; hope to see you all signing up! :) iMatthew  at 00:27, 17 July 2009 (UTC)

About two weeks left, now. To those of you in the back, don't give up. There is still enough time to get some more work done. To those of you in the front relaxing... don't. We've seen it happen before, where users in the back will jump ahead in the final weeks and make it though.

We'd also like to wave goodbye to Scorpion0422, and thank him for all of his hard work this round even though he knew he needed to withdraw at the end of it. 'weburiedoursecretsinthegarden, iMatthew , and The Helpful One

Mannatech Article

Hello Shoemaker's Holiday, just wanted to touch base with you. I have reverted your edit you made today to the Mannatech article; for some reason you had removed a few months of edits including a major clean-up and improvement I and others have been working on (adding the company logo, organizing all the public scrutiny into separate sub-sections, etc). FYI, I am not affiliated with Mannatech at all. Let's talk if you have any objections to my revert. Have a good day.prhartcom (talk) 12:03, 19 July 2009 (UTC)

Thanks for your reponse (on my page); I definately know what you mean about this article; I have seen many attempts to add marketing content. I keep an eye on it frequently for that reason. I have, I believe, improved it quite a bit in the last few months so I do appreciate it if we talk before you remove any of those improvements. Have a good day.prhartcom (talk) 12:40, 19 July 2009 (UTC)

Thanks for this - I'd raised it at the new content board and the associated wikiproject. Dougweller (talk) 14:49, 19 July 2009 (UTC)

Re: ANI post

If you refuse to withdraw a harmful accusation when only oversighters can see the full truth of the matter, I believe that this is necessary. Misplaced Pages:Administrators'_noticeboard/Incidents#User:Stephen_Bain —Preceding unsigned comment added by Shoemaker's Holiday (talkcontribs)

The page is merely deleted, not oversighted, any administrator can view the revisions. As for the amendment request, you will have to await the other arbitrators' views if mine do not suit. --bainer (talk) 14:00, 23 July 2009 (UTC)
No, some of the revisions - including most of the outing of me - was oversighted, before the deletion of the page was considered. If you're basing your accusation on the events on the post-oversighting page, then you are not really looking into the situation. Shoemaker's Holiday (talk) 14:41, 23 July 2009 (UTC)
