In chemistry, more specifically, in biochemical nomeclature, the prefix oxy often refers to the presence of a ketone functional group. However, you may find other prefixes that used by various books and journals. For some common chemicals (mainly in biochemistry), keto is the term used to describe the ketone (also known as alkanone) functional group.

The formal IUPAC nomenclature is oxo.
