Hangon rationale

Artist passes the general notability guideline through multiple, independent, reliable sources:

If the reviewing admin deems this article appropriate, could it be moved to Justin Bieber (which is currently protected from creation due to multiple recreations following A7s). Cheers. Fribbulus Xax (talk) 00:41, 23 July 2009 (UTC)

This appears to have been completed. tedder (talk) 16:37, 27 July 2009 (UTC)

Birthdate

birthday 1st of march —Preceding unsigned comment added by FarahB13 (talkcontribs) 19:39, 30 July 2009 (UTC)

For what it's worth, I removed the birthdate again today. It was using chacha as source, which is just a question/answer engine. It listed answers.com as a source, which actually just has an old version of Misplaced Pages's page. Misplaced Pages can't be used as a source for Misplaced Pages; if anyone finds a decent reference for his birthdate, please feel free to post it here or to the article. However, it needs to be reliably sourced, just like the rest of an article about a living person. tedder (talk) 04:37, 31 July 2009 (UTC)
I've re-added his birthday, using a reliable source. At least I believe MuchMusic is a reliable source, seeing how it's like the MTV of Canada. MS (Talk|Contributions) 04:41, 31 July 2009 (UTC)
MuchMusic is certainly reliable enough! Thanks for finding that. tedder (talk) 05:14, 31 July 2009 (UTC)

birthday !

justin biebers birthday is march 1 1994 ! he said so in a lot of interviews on youtube ! if you want to see if im correct just go to youtube and type justin bieber interviews > to warn you there are alot of interviews but if you whatch some you will find one where he says his birthday is march 1 —Preceding unsigned comment added by Justinbieberfan101 (talkcontribs) 16:07, 31 July 2009 (UTC)

I just watched about four interviews, and it was a very, very painful ten minutes or so. None of them mentioned a birthday, and I couldn't bring myself to watch any more. Seems like this needs some further looking-into, however - there were a lot of comments that said March 1. None said March 14. Obviously these are not reliable sources, but MuchMusic might be mistaken. Tan | 39 21:06, 31 July 2009 (UTC)

Died

Did he die? I read something that said he died but the reports are very early. TostitosAreGross (talk) 06:18, 1 August 2009 (UTC)

You seem like an experienced editor; you know to find a reliable source. i love him

Primary Source

The source I got from Myspace is Justin Bieber's Biography on his Offical Myspace page. So it does not matter if it was written by his manager, or by him or whatever it is still important. But anyway's I suppose if you don't agree with me then can you please add back the other stuff like the Biography I put up there for him. And besides, that relates to the sentences that are written down there I would like to see you try to get another source.Sprite7868 (talk) 12:03, 10 August 2009 (UTC)

Please read our policy of verifiability and reliable sources, and then explain how JB's official MySpace page in any way meets this criteria: "Misplaced Pages articles should rely primarily on reliable, third-party, published sources". MySpace is not reliable, as there is no fact-checking process, editorial oversight, or accuracy quality control. MySpace is not third-party, as Mr. Bieber (or a representative of his, such as his manager) writes the material themselves. Per Misplaced Pages biography policy, "Self-published sources should never be used as third-party sources about living persons, even if the author is a well-known professional researcher or writer". I don't know how to make this more clear. Tan | 39 17:19, 10 August 2009 (UTC)
