Maria Luisa Santos is beauty queen and fashion model from Guam. She won the title of Miss Earth Guam 2009 in the annual national Miss Earth Guam beauty pageant, organized by the Miss Earth Guam Organization. She will represent her country in the Miss Earth 2009 competition, an annual international beauty pageant promoting environmental awareness, which is one of the three largest beauty pageants in the world in terms of the number of national-level competitions to participate in the world finals.
Miss Earth Guam 2009
Santos, from Dededo, Guam, won the Miss Earth Guam 2009 pageant. She inherited the crown from Jennifer Neves, who held the 2008 Miss Earth Guam title by virtue of the pageant organizers’ appointment. Santos took four other awards: Miss Photogenic, Best in Native Costume, Best in Swimsuit, and Best in Evening Gown.

Santos, who stands 5 feet and 8 inches tall, will represent Guam in the 9th edition of Miss Earth beauty pageant, which will be held at the Boracay Ecovillage Resort and Convention Center, in the Island of Boracay, Philippines, which will start on November 1, 2009 with its final on November 22, 2009.. The Miss Earth winner serves as the spokesperson for the Miss Earth Foundation, the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) and other environmental organizations. About 90 contestants from different countries and territories are expected to compete in the event.
