{{reflist}} vs. {{Reflist|2}} ?

Hi, I am curious about the edit you recently done on Gene Simmons you changed {{reflist}} to {{Reflist|2}} and I can't figure out what the difference is. Also, you added a message stating the correct format for references but I don't think there are any improperly referenced ones, am I missing something? Thanks J04n(talk page) 00:04, 20 July 2009 (UTC)

It will put the ref into 2 columns there is also {reflist|colwidth=30em} for 3 columns........................ Buzz............

No problem I have left a message with the person that keeps doing it ..I am not sure y he is but hopefully it will stop. Buzzzsherman (talk) 18:12, 27 August 2009 (UTC)

LOL you can tell who does it cool!! hopefully it will stop. Is this normal to have just small pictures?? 99.246.128.164 (talk) 18:17, 27 August 2009 (UTC)

AS far as i can see most pictures should be displayed so they are between 100 and 400 pixels wide. {see Misplaced Pages:Manual of Style#Images for more info)...........Lead images should usually be no wider than "upright=1.7" ("300px") (99.246.128.164) PS get a username this might help in people not editing your stuff. Buzzzsherman (talk) 18:20, 27 August 2009 (UTC)

image sizes

I have my default image thumbnail size set 300px, so if you set it to 250px or anything smaller, you're actually making it smaller for me that it should be. If there was some reason why these images should be a certain size (such as a map) the size should be set, but otherwise left alone. I was actually thinking that the lead image was automatically enlarged, but you're right and I was wrong, so I was overzealous in my edits. I guess I just got carried away. Sorry. I've increased the size of the map as well, so that the labels are clearer, though Image:Non-Native American Nations Control over N America 1750-2008.gif should actually be edited because the labels aren't particularly legible even at 400px. Thanks for calmly pointing out my error rather than just getting mad. I appreciate it. - TheMightyQuill (talk) 01:59, 28 August 2009 (UTC)

First Nations

Thanks for the compliments and the award. If it wasn't for people like you creating content then I would have little to do plus others have to tidy up what I make a mess of as well. You are not making mistakes just minor formatting errors that almost everybody makes. It's slow work going through an article to check all the links for duplicates and look for new and relevant article to add links to. You need a lot of time to be able to edit and with my job I have quite a bit. I'll take a look through First Nations starting tomorrow and looking at the size it should take 3-4 days. I don't stick up a {{tl:Inuse}} because it's not fair to other editors to be held up that long and I can easily incorporate their edits before I save. Thanks again. First Nations peer review request

I note you have nominated this article for WP:Peer Review, although you did not provide a nom statement, nor did you enter the request on the article's talkpage (see nomination procedure on Peer Review page). I see that the article is currently a GA nomination. It is not generally a good idea to have articles simultaneously on GAN and peer review, as this can lead to confusion and conflicting advice from GA and peer reviewers. This can be especially problematic with long and complex articles. My advice would be to withdraw the PR nomination until after the GA outcome. Brianboulton (talk) 23:25, 5 September 2009 (UTC)

Pre-Siberian American Aborigines

I see you'ved edited this. The more I look at this the less sense it makes as an article. Anything before Clovis is 'pre-Siberian'? I'm not sure what to do about it though, suggestions? Dougweller (talk) 06:45, 11 September 2009 (UTC)

Thank you RE series

Thanks for the award about the initial go at making a series template for First Nations/Aboriginal Peoples of Canada/Inui/Metis. I have a busy week end this, so perhaps can help a bit more next. Please feel free to add / modify the template during my busy time. I will try to add some more puttering. Good luck on the GA's BTW!!! I noticed that the article on Jewish people have a drop down topic list in their series template. That may be helpful for the languages section of this series template to include more of the various languages. SriMesh | talk 21:12, 12 September 2009 (UTC)

No problem, I have a little experience with the GA process, and these articles you are tackling are pretty high priority, and it would be good to see them go through I know how it is when you are working and working on something, the little things do slip by, Kind regards and again good luckSriMesh | talk 20:35, 13 September 2009 (UTC)

Aboriginal peoples in Canada

Hi there, I see you are active on the above article, and its nominator at WP:GAN. I've left a message at the article talk page. It is a great assembly of information, but I think it is missing a major section that would prevent it passing at GA. See my comments. I'm not in a position to assist unfortunately, but I hope you and others might be able to plug the gap. If it happens within weeks, it might be done before a person gets to it to do a full GA review. Cheers. hamiltonstone (talk) 03:55, 18 September 2009 (UTC)

IPC Template

Thanks for reworking the template, it's looking much better now. I don't really have any other problems with it, though maybe I'd suggest a small nation-neutral image or logo that could be placed between the title 'Aboriginal peoples of Canada series' and the links to the three major distinctive groups. But, that's entirely up to you, it's looking good otherwise. - Io Katai (talk) 01:49, 19 September 2009 (UTC)

Thanks for the barnstar. It would have been nice to find other projects with sections but all they had were search results. Thanks again. Enter CambridgeBayWeather, waits for audience applause, not a sausage 20:36, 22 September 2009 (UTC)

Your GA nomination of Aboriginal peoples in Canada

The article Aboriginal peoples in Canada you nominated as a good article has failed ; see Talk:Aboriginal peoples in Canada for reasons why the nomination failed. If or when these points have been taken care of, you may apply for a new nomination of said article. If you oppose this decision, you may ask for a reassessment. Aboriginal peoples in Canada

Hello thanks for your note. I am done for awhile, again, called away for a bit. Can you re-do the lead again. It usually takes the most tweaking when the article nears completion. I attempted one sentence per section, however maybe a few sections only got a word or two, but I tried to introduce the entire article and each and every section in the lead to "entice" the reader to read more for more information depending on their interest. An article of this size can have a longer lead as per WP:LEAD maybe three or four paragraphs, so maybe you can add a general pointer here or there. Ummm Citations are not needed in the lead as the citations are in the article proper, as that is where the lead points to for more info.SriMesh | talk 20:08, 6 October 2009 (UTC)

I think I did the lead too much section by section, as my lead paragraph is lacking a bit of flow here an there :-( but I do have to go out now. SriMesh | talk 20:20, 6 October 2009 (UTC)
Did you want to ask Nikkimaria to have a peek in and see how the article is coming along. A couple more requests were sent out to a couple of WP for help shortening the article or making daughter articles, but a lot/all of the areas have been approached/completed/edited in the GA review which were brought up...IMHOSriMesh | talk 01:05, 7 October 2009 (UTC)
The only thing I can think of regarding shortening the article is to pull some of the people, ... but I am not sure who is lesser notable than the other, once they are written up they all do have a "claim to fame" for their notability, .... or to put some detail into the sister articles which is in the main article here, and shorten the sections in the main article, but I read through the sections, and they flow so well, and stay on topic, and don't seem to go too much elsewhere on a tangent. I will look through again, and I will double check the extra ] on the wikilink, I did take it off once also  ;-), it has been a busy article. SriMesh | talk 01:54, 7 October 2009 (UTC)

Eskimo

I added the template because the article includes material very relevant to Inuit. While the name is not in common use it is important overall to the Inuit history articles. Also I think I tried to explain it at Talk:Eskimo but the term is still in use in some areas as a means of self-identification. Cheers.
