The Shilluk Language, or Chollo, is a Nilotic language spoken by the Shilluk people of South Sudan. It is closely related to Luo.

Written language

The New Testament was published in Shilluk in 1977. However, few Shilluk are Christian, and literacy is only 20%. In 2009 the first secular Shilluk book, a translation of Handa's Hen, was printed. The alphabet used in Handa's Hen, not counting numerous diacritics, is as follows:
