Deb Fischer, born (1951-03-01) March 1, 1951 (age 73), is a Nebraska state senator from Valentine, Nebraska in the Nebraska Legislature and a rancher.
Personal life
She was born in Lincoln, Nebraska and graduated from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln in 1988 with a B.S. in education. She is a member of many Cattlemen organizations and many other agricultural organizations.
State Legislature
She was elected in 2004 to represent the 43rd Nebraska legislative district, the largest in Nebraska. Blaine, Boyd, Brown, Custer, Hooker, Keya Paha, Logan, Loup, McPherson, Rock, and Thomas counties, as well as parts of Cherry and Holt counties are encompassed by the district, which includes the communities of Atkinson, Ainsworth, Bassett, Broken Bow, Dunning, Mullen, and Valentine. She currently sits on the Executive Board; Committee On Committees; Midwestern Higher Education Compact Commission; Natural Resources; Transportation and Telecommunications, and sits on the Education Commission of the States and the Midwestern Higher Education Compact.
She was elected in 2004 to represent the 43rd Nebraska legislative district. She is currently the Chairperson for the Transportation and Telecommunications committee and is also a member of the Natural Resources committee.
