After Forever (song)
Hello, back in March you closed Misplaced Pages:Articles for deletion/Killing Yourself to Live as merge. There were three songs nominated in the one AfD, one of which was After Forever (song). Two of the !voters agreed that two of the songs should be merged but not After Forever (song) and another two !voted keep for the three. Now it is revealed that 4 of the delete votes were from socks of the same editor who also !voted delete. My question for you is; without those 4 delete votes would you have closed it the same way? If no can you please restore After Forever (song), if yes I'll drop it. Thank you J04n(talk page) 05:24, 21 November 2009 (UTC)

Assistance at Bc's talkpage
There is an editor attempting to interact with Betacommand at his talkpage, regarding some actions (tagging, it seems) by Bc on an article page. It seems that the other editors command of English is not what it might be, may not have read or understood the template at the top of Bc's talkpage, and is generally unfamiliar with Bc. I am familiar enough with Bc to know that hoping he will carefully, comprehensively and politely explain himself may not be sufficient. As one of Bc's mentors, I wonder if it would be in your remit to assist in the editors queries before Bc does. I note that you are busy in real life, so I am copying this to Hersfold also. LessHeard vanU (talk) 20:15, 22 November 2009 (UTC)
- Arg, that looks difficult and complex and I have a paper due tomorrow, so I am trying to avoid wikistress. Any chance you could toss this to Fritzpoll? Seems like something for his incubator project. MBisanz 20:21, 22 November 2009 (UTC)
- It would appear that my hope was indeed sufficient - Bc's response was polite. I think you can concentrate on your studies without worry. LessHeard vanU (talk) 23:00, 22 November 2009 (UTC)

Third Church of Christ, Scientist (Washington, D.C.)
Random comment from APK - I walk past that brutal building all the time, but I never thought to check out the rear entrance. It looks pretty cool, compared to the facade, that is. I'm an old school historic preservationist. The Washington Crypt's architecture is nice, but I think brutalist "gems" like the Scientist Church and Hinckley Hilton should get acquainted with several wrecking balls. ;-) APK lives in Dupont and Gomorrah 06:51, 23 November 2009 (UTC)
- Awesome, although I do love those gems, the National Conference Center is simply amazing and Adam Clayton Powell Jr. State Office Building is also great (then again, I did pick my undergraduate college in part because of its architecture...). MBisanz 15:13, 23 November 2009 (UTC)

- Oh, MB, you big bad lib'rul you. Don't you know that you're just poisoning WP with your tree-hugging moonbat bias? I mean, lib'ruls have written this "NPOV" crap into ALL the important articles: Fox News, Karl Rove, George W. Bush (the greatest President EVAR,--but if you can believe it, these wacky weed-smokers keep citing this silly WP:UNDUE thing to make us leave in their lies about how Mr. Bush "wasn't the smartest tool on the tree."). And now if you'll excuse me, I'm off to my pro-Amurrica protest march. But I'll be watching you, ya big pinko.GJC 16:29, 24 November 2009 (UTC)

Question
Hello MBisanz, I have a question. File:Joe Sanchez.jpg has been deleted within Misplaced Pages policy which is perfectly fine, however I have been told today that the copyright (not the subject in the image) holder sent the permission of usage to OTRS (which I believe may be backed up in work) about 8 days ago and has sent it once more today (24th). What happens after OTRS receives the permit? Will the image be undeleted and posted once more in the article of the subject by OTRS? Or what is the process here? I'm a little absent minded and normally absorbed in my writting in Misplaced Pages, therefore I was wondering if you could please answer me in my "talk page". Tony the Marine (talk) 03:25, 25 November 2009 (UTC)
- Thank you, it is people like you that make our experience in this project a great one. Tony the Marine (talk) 04:35, 25 November 2009 (UTC)
moving/deleting my evidence
why did you delete my COI evidence and the rest of the diffs i've presented? Theserialcomma (talk) 04:59, 25 November 2009 (UTC)
- Your evidence is still there and your comments/responses/questions have been moved to the talk page as they are not evidence. MBisanz 05:02, 25 November 2009 (UTC)
FYI
This appears malplaced.
On an unrelated note, your talk page is protected for a month now, you might consider lowering it if it is no longer necessary. –xeno 18:31, 25 November 2009 (UTC)
- Yep, just fixed that, damn those section headers. Seeing as I finally got "those people" uninterested in me, I'd rather not run the risk again so soon. MBisanz 18:33, 25 November 2009 (UTC)
- I won't belabour the point further but do note that you've had good faith edit/requests from IPs in the past given the various hats you wear. Hopefully it won't need to stay up for too much longer. Best regards, –xeno 18:35, 25 November 2009 (UTC)
F2 request
You wrote "If I recall correctly, off-wiki comments made privately may be summarized or referenced, but may not be quoted on-wiki as the controlling factor is respect for copyright. I believe Doug might be better informed on this matter since he did just clerk the similar EEML case.". Did you mean me? I've had nothing to do with the EEML case, Manning was the junior clerk there. - Oh, right, it was Knightlago. Thanks. MBisanz 18:55, 25 November 2009 (UTC)
Betacommand
Hi! As Betacommand's mentor, could you have a look at the conversation at User talk:Betacommand#Gorizont_.28newspaper.29_confirmation_links_were_removed as there seem to be some issues. It seems to me like User:Михаил Дмитриев is a newbie who made some mistakes in good faith while creating a new article (language problems and placing references in the wrong format) and Betacommand is handling this in a sub-optimal way. The newbie is making valid points, but Betacommand is being too dismissive of this in my mind, and may have made some poor choices, such as flooding the article in question with maintenance templates in a way that gives the impression of being retaliatory.
I don't think Betacommand's behaviour in this matter is uncivil, but it is a bit... passive-aggressive, maybe? I know that Betacommand has had problems with communication in the past and hope that you can help him to avoid such problems in the future. Such as Betacommand's situation is now, he needs to avoid communicating in a way that causes people to have an unnecessarily negative view of him. Draftydoor (talk) 21:01, 25 November 2009 (UTC)
Where to add proposed MediaWiki features?
Hey, Matt. Do you happen to know where a user can add a proposition for a technical feature? I had a thought last night about the option for any user to block another user from editing their talk page. Schfifty3 22:33, 25 November 2009 (UTC)
- See WP:VPT. MBisanz 22:34, 25 November 2009 (UTC)
- Came up recently here, FWIW: Misplaced Pages:Village pump (proposals)/Archive 54#Proposal: Allow Editors to be Administers in their own Namespace. –xeno 22:38, 25 November 2009 (UTC)
- Thanks for the link, Xeno. However, my original thought was that users may have the option to personally block another user from editing their User talk page. There are certain users here that I do not appreciate (such as the infamous User:Grawp or other trolls); that led to this tiny proposal here. Is it capable of working? Question to the clerk
Let's say I want to publish some log files. :) If I put them on my own site and link to them from Misplaced Pages, no issue right? What if I put them up on Misplaced Pages? What permissions do I need to make it kosher? Jehochman 04:11, 26 November 2009 (UTC)
- If you put log files on Misplaced Pages without copyright release of all parties who have contributed to the log, I will block you.
- If you put log files on a website and link to that website from Misplaced Pages without copyright release from all parties who have contributed to the log, I will block you.
- If you put log files on a website and link to that website from Misplaced Pages Review and then link to the Misplaced Pages Review thread from Misplaced Pages without copyright release from all parties who have contributed to the log, I will block you.
- If you put log files on a website and someone else links to that website without copyright release from all parties who have contributed to the log, I will block them.
- If you get everyone who has contributed to the log to say on-wiki they agree to permit cc-by-sa-3.0 licensing of their comments and then post the log on-wiki, I will do nothing.
- If you get everyone who has contributed to the log to email permissions-enwikimedia.org stating they release their comments under cc-by-sa-3.0 and then have the OTRS agent post the log on-wiki with a link to the merge OTRS ticket, I will do nothing.
- Am I missing a circumstance that is unclear to you? MBisanz 04:23, 26 November 2009 (UTC)
- Dude! You're awesome. This sounds like way too much effort. I've got the logs queued up in another window. Glad I didn't push save. What if I just offer to email them to anybody who asks me for a copy? Is that acceptable or do I get the big red X? Jehochman 04:26, 26 November 2009 (UTC)
- If you offer to email them to anyone and nothing else happens, I will do nothing.
- If you offer to email them to anyone and someone who is not your agent then posts them on Misplaced Pages, I will block that person.
- If you offer to email them to anyone and someone who is your agent then posts them on Misplaced Pages, I will block you and them.
- If you offer to email them to anyone and someone who is not your agent, but with whom you associate, posts them on-wiki, I will block you and them.
- Anything else? MBisanz 04:31, 26 November 2009 (UTC)
- I emailed a copy to AGK. Keep an eye on him. We don't associate and he's not my agent. Otherwise, I am not emailing. Jehochman 04:33, 26 November 2009 (UTC)
- I do not need to be kept an eye on, Jehochman. I am more than capable of behaving like an adult without a functionary breathing down my neck! AGK 12:03, 26 November 2009 (UTC)

Please replace Public Domain File you accidentally deleted
You accidentally deleted the file PD Mainelli Michael 26 02 08.jpg You failed to notice
- It was called PD
- It was copyright free
- It has a copyright free sign on the photo
Please undelete it and restore it to the article "Michael Mainelli". I don't know how to do this. As the man who deleted file please could you restore the mess you made. Thank you
I have uploaded a copy of the file to
File:PD Mainelli Michael 26 02 08 (DO NOT DELETE).jpg
I hope this will help you.Mike Young (talk) 19:23, 26 November 2009 (UTC)
- No, the file was properly deleted for the OTRS email sent regarding it not containing a proper source. All files must have proper source information. MBisanz 19:26, 26 November 2009 (UTC)
- Excuse me I have just tagged File:PD Mainelli Michael 26 02 08 (DO NOT DELETE).jpg for no source or licence - it is a copy of the same image - does OTRS cover this as well? MilborneOne (talk) 19:46, 26 November 2009 (UTC)
Happy Thanksgiving!

Comment
MB, could you email the Committee and check whether speedy removal of the request would be appropriate. I am concerned that if we leave this matter open other editors may get sucked in, wasting more time and risking more hurt feelings. As the requester I feel responsible not to take up more than my fair share of time and attention. Regardless of what the rules say, we should use common sense and do what is obviously best. See also my talk page comment to Dougweller. Thank you, and best regards. I have to visit a bunch of stores with my family today, so I may only be offline more than usual today. Shoppingly, Jehochman Jehochman 16:34, 27 November 2009 (UTC)
- I've emailed clerks-l for further guidance, but through my foggy mind, my initial thought it that while you filed the complaint, FT2 and Alison's answers raise counterclaims, see Fed. R. Civ. P. 13(a)-(b), that would prevent you from withdrawing the matter. And I was out at 3:30 this morning grabbing the doorbuster blender on sale! MBisanz 17:35, 27 November 2009 (UTC)
- In that case I'd be entitled to cite Fed. R. Civ. P. 11 (b) (1) and (2) against their counter-claims and request relief under Fed. R. Civ. P. 11 (c). Fortunately, we are not using Fed. R. Civ. P. on Misplaced Pages. Instead, we do whatever sensible. :D Jehochman 17:44, 27 November 2009 (UTC)
