Denizen is a Template:Fy sci-fi/horror film, film starring J.A. Steel, Julie Corgill, Glen Jensen, Ben Bayless and Jody Mullins. Denizen is the third feature of J.A. Steel, who also wrote the screenplay. The film premise is “to catch a monster you must become a monster”.

Plot

Denizen is about a group of scientists who must stop a mysterious creature from attacking a small town. Drawing on her experience in her first feature film, The Third Society, Steel brought back a tough motorcycle riding main character in the form of Sierra Deacon. It is Deacon's team, consisting of Dexter Maines (Ben Bayless) and Dallas Murphy (Jody Mullins), who must help the locals led by Callie Calhoun (Julie Lisandro) to save the town from the Creature that is killing the residents. After several deaths, a special Army Unit, led by General Jernigan (Glen Jensen), is called in to contain the Creature, and if necessary, destroy the town. It is a race against time to stop the creature and prevent the town from being destroyed.

Denizen is a mix of action, horror and science fiction. It has plenty of gun play and a surprising array of stunts including cave diving SCUBA shots, sky diving, and some military fighter jet action. Denizen has a complicated plot that incorporates a number of different elements: government conspiracies, monsters, as well as mystery.

Cast

Production

Denizen was filmed in nine days, primarily in Muskogee, the Cenotes of Playa del Carmen, Mexico, and Salt Lake City, Utah. The film included several cave diving scenes, in which J.A. Steel, a certified IANTD cave diver, did her own stunts and some camera work.
