You have been blocked from editing for a period of 24 hours to prevent further disruption caused by your engagement in an edit war at iCarly. During a dispute, you should first try to discuss controversial changes and seek consensus. If that proves unsuccessful you are encouraged to seek dispute resolution, and in some cases it may be appropriate to request page protection. If you believe this block is unjustified, you may contest the block by adding the text {{unblock|your reason here}} below. EyeSerene 09:56, 13 November 2009 (UTC)

Further information: You have recently been reverting Thewtfchronicles at iCarly (, , ), contibuting to an edit-war that has involved a number of editors reverting each other. Eight of the last 13 edits to that page are reversions. Although it's true that you did attempt to discuss the situation, you were still reverting - see WP:BRD and WP:STATUSQUO for some advice on how to handle editing disputes, and you may find dispute resolution helpful in future. Edits that are not obvious vandalism should be discussed and improved rather than simply reverted, and note that the spirit as well as the letter of WP:3RR applies to all editors. • Thank you for the information. I understand the 3RR; I've been a Misplaced Pages user for more than five years and I try to avoid edit wars (and therefore have never been blocked for doing so, at least until now). I am very aware that it doesn't take more than three reverts to trigger a block. In the future, I will be more careful in reverting edits. More specifically, I understand the reason why you blocked me, and am willing to sit out the remainder of the block if you or another admin sees it fit. However, in the "spirit" of the 3RR, I still do not think my block is valid, as I did initiate a discussion, and I specifically walked away from the dispute to avoid an edit war after leaving a comment on the article's talk page. My actions were to avoid an edit war, not start one (though I realize now I should have jumped to the talk page immediately during my first reversion). Anyway, thanks for taking the time to clarify. 青い(Aoi) (talk) 10:57, 13 November 2009 (UTC)
  • EyeSerene, could you reconsider this block? From a look at the article, I notice that Aoi reverted only twice there today, and both editors had already started discussing on the talkpage. Aoi did *not* revert a third time, and Aoi was certainly aware that the section has been removed again. I agree that the second revert should not have been done, and Thewtfchronicles should have been given the time to respond on the talk page, but this situation seemed to have been under control and stable for several hours. I don't see that this block prevented any disruption, and the edit warring at that page was in my opinion far below below the threshold that requires immediate blocks without warnings. A round of notices would have, in my opinion, been very sufficient. Would you consider unblocking them all? Cheers, Amalthea 10:58, 13 November 2009 (UTC)
Fair enough - I've gone over the contribs again, and Aoi was unfortunate to allow themself to get caught up in this edit-war. I agree that their previous good record also deserves consideration, so I've unblocked. I don't agree with a blanket unblock of all the participants (see Misplaced Pages:ANI#Review a block? for some related background), but I'll take another look at the others anyway. Thanks, and yes, I only became of the underlying issue after I posted the above. Cheers, Amalthea 11:55, 13 November 2009 (UTC)

Your request to be unblocked has been granted for the following reason(s):

Per user assurances and previous good edit history

Request handled by: EyeSerene 11:20, 13 November 2009 (UTC)

Unblocking administrator: Please check for active autoblocks on this user after accepting the unblock request.

Maybe you should not be so wiki minded. It's the least reliable dictionary. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 128.232.246.95 (talk) 20:10, 14 November 2009 (UTC)
