Self-promotion

This article, whose virtually sole editor is the subject himself, suffered from extreme and extensive WP:NOTADVERTISING and WP:COI violations. The subject himself wrote self-promotional prose lacking citations, using WP:PEACOCK terms & claims. I also see now that a tag above reads "A page with this title has previously been deleted," meaning that this is not the first attempt at promoting a publisher and his company.

I use Spurlock's reference books while researching Misplaced Pages and journalistic articles; I find Vanguard a valuable resource. But given how many legitimate articles about publishers exist on Misplaced Pages, which could have been referenced and used as models, there is no excuse for such blatant self-promotion. I would strongly suggest that no one associated with Vanguard edit this article, nor meat-puppet friends. Misplaced Pages admins frown on such self-promotion, and can remove articles containing blatant policy violations. -- Tenebrae (talk) 20:44, 2 February 2010 (UTC)
