Expand the subject plz..
Can someone please explain the partys (and the recent incident) more in detail. As what does the party stand for, what are they opposed of, history etc.. For a bystander it almost look like red vs black ants. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Klopto (talk • contribs) 04:19, 14 February 2008 (UTC)
First off, like Stephen Colbert, I'm blind to caste because I don't speak any of the local languages, but the English press seems to regard MNS as a vehicle for Raj, using anti-Hindi sentiment in a cynical fashion to gain power.
But there is a large Marathi speaking population in the state that feels somewhat disenfranchised in their own country by a Hindi speaking majority in India overall, that practices forms of Hindu that are foreign to the Marathi. I suppose it would be as if Texas was dismissed as just another midwest state or something.
Should we keep a list of every twitch the MNS makes?

Hcobb (talk) 18:23, 9 September 2008 (UTC) i think the way u guys work for the maharashtrians is very cool, but at the same time i thought we should keep averyone with us,that means there are some people who appreciate ur work but they are not satisfied the way you did it.coz with this eliment u can win d hearts of maharashtrian people but at d same time we loose our respect infront of the different language speakers. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Rohit$12 (talk • contribs) 06:59, 16 March 2009 (UTC)
Extract Controversies and merge with Raj
Why not create a single Controversies page that is shared by both Raj and MNS instead of maintaining two lists in the current pages? Hcobb (talk) 10:27, 20 October 2008 (UTC)
Can we cool it please?
Surely there is no need for us to think of derogatory labels for Indian parties when the other parties will go on the record saying these things and all we have to do is document this with references. Hcobb (talk) 05:44, 23 October 2008 (UTC)

Book Banning
I'm looking for more details on the book banning campaign before adding it.
http://timesofindia.indiatimes.com/Mumbai_bookstore_pulls_Pak_writers_off_its_shelves/articleshow/3932647.cms The store has taken books by Pakistani authors off its shelves following "friendly advice" from police. The store was asked to take precautions in the light of Raj Thackeray's "ban" on Pakistani artists.

MNS is a nationalist movement
And like most nationalist parties it has both socialist and fascist tendencies. Compare with Socialist Party of Serbia. Hcobb (talk) 14:26, 13 August 2009 (UTC)
