Megan Jennifer Connolly (9 April 1974 - 6 September 2001) was an Australian actress.

Career

Connolly first gained notice in her 1990 film debut in The Crossing with Russell Crowe. She became one of Australia's leading soap stars with her role of Tori Hayden in Paradise Beach. After the show's sudden end in 1994, she co-hosted the Saturday morning video game TV review show The Zone for a year.

In late 1995 Connolly hosted the fitness show Body Corp. She was a VJ for Foxtel's Channel V until early 1997. During this time she also starred in the stage musical Resurrected!.

In mid-1998, Connolly returned to soaps when she played Rebecca Nash in Home and Away. This was a short term role when she filled in for Belinda Emmett who had to take time off to undergo cancer treatment. Connolly also starred in Breakers.

Late in 2000 Megan auditioned for Sydney based band Red Sands at Sound Level Studio's Ultimo as a vocalist, but was knocked back simply because the drummer of the band Simon Mills wanted an all male line up.

Death

After a year away from the industry, Connolly died on 6 September 2001, from a heroin overdose at the age of 27.

A seat dedicated to her memory is situated at Mackenzies Point in Tamarama, Sydney.
