I'm changing the method of victory in two of his victories from "swickotine" to Guillotine. There is no such move as a swickotine in brazilian jiu jitsu, it is just a regular, everyday guillotine choke that he personally calls a swickotine. If lebron james called his assists "droppers", we'd still label them as assists in an encyclopedia. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 82.71.234.1 (talk) 11:32, 1 July 2008 (UTC)
Flags
Please stop changing the UK flag to the flag of England in connection with MMA fighters or the sites of MMA events.
This is not consistent with the usual international practice. When we refer to US fighters or MMA events in the USA, we always use the US flag, not the state flag. When we refer to Japanese fighters, we don't even mention the prefecture the fighter is coming from. When we speak about Spanish fighters, we don't mention the autonomous area he is coming from (even though some of the Spanish autonomous communities are much more sovereign than what England is in the UK).
The division of the United Kingdom into four countries is nothing special or unique. Many other countries (sovereign states) in the world are divided into autonomous regions, states or whatever in a similar fashion, and those regions have flags, national anthems, etc. of their own. But it doesn't make sense to use these divisions in the context of MMA.
And yes, England is a "country". So is Basque country in Spain; many other subregions of sovereign states can be called "countries", too. Yet those ARE NOT used in the context of MMA. England should not be used either. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 128.214.205.63 (talk) 17:51, 16 February 2010 (UTC)
Basque is not a country, England is. Paralympiakos (talk) 17:52, 16 February 2010 (UTC)
Nobody has claimed that England is not a country. But you are probaly the first one to state that Basque country is not one.
Anyway, the whole concept is not well defined and exact in common usage (as you certainly know). It is also irrelevant for this discussion.
As I have told several times: We should stick to sovereign states. Most MMA pages already do. Stop changing them. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 128.214.205.63 (talk) 18:11, 16 February 2010 (UTC) They really don't though. I suggest reading the literature on this website about GB nationalities. You're supposed to leave it to some who have a better feel for it and also have good reason for changing. You're clutching and the only reason you're doing this is to troll. You've got a problem with me, clearly and you're hiding across multi IPs to hide away.
Please, quit this practice of reverting my edits; it's just annoying. Paralympiakos (talk) 18:14, 16 February 2010 (UTC)
You are the one who is annoying other people. Instead of discussing and presenting your views and arguments on talk pages in a civilized manner, you just keep blanking talk pages and reverting edits by other people, labelling them as "vandalism", "pointless", "trolling", "annoying" etc. without any objective reasons. It is evident from you contribution history, that a great majority of your activity here consists of undoing edits by other people. It is ridiculous to call this kind of practice as "having a better feel" of things. 128.214.205.63 (talk) 19:06, 16 February 2010 (UTC)
You are absolutely right, my bro.... clearly UK is the correct choice. I guess those Britons are so patriotic that they don't see it.
I will issue a strong but polite warning to Paralysiakos. let's start making changes to the flags (it will take some time). If any vandal starts to rampage and revert, I'll use my administrative contacts to restrain it. 194.157.59.85 (talk) 09:26, 19 February 2010 (UTC)
Correct, a fair percentage of my edits are the undoing of others edits. That's because I'm an anti-vandal and so revert vandalism.
I have discussed it before and you have instead just been harassing me for weeks now, hence your warning from an admin. If I want to blank your edits to my talk page, I will do so. Paralympiakos (talk) 19:10, 16 February 2010 (UTC)
