Rudolph "Rudy" W. Giuliani (1944- ) is the mayor of New York, until December 31, 2001 and a former U.S. District Attorney.

He ran an abortive campaign for U.S. Senate in 2000 against Hillary Rodham Clinton, withdrawing because of health problems (cancer) and the fallout from his affair with Judith Norman.
