Finnish names in Russia > Russian > "English"_Russian_>_"English"-2010-01-29T20:06:00.000Z">

Honourable Sir,
Maybe You don't quite understand. Of course, the places locate in Russia, nobody denies that. However, they have Finnish names, e.g. Lake Höyhenjärvi comes from Finnish meaning Lake Plume/Пероозеро , Lake Jänisjärvi means Lake Hare/Заяцозеро, Lahdenpohja means Bottom of Sound/Бухтинское дно, Leipäsuo means Bread Swamp/Хлебние болото.
As You notice, Хеюхенъярви, Янисъярви, Лахденпохья, Лейпясуо etc. are truly not Russian, but transliterated Finnish names.
In addition to Finnish h changed to Russian х (and back to "kh"), also because there is not a letter ä in the Russian language, it has to been transliterated like Tolvajärvi > Толваярви > "Tolvayarvi" and perhaps the most funny case: Ägläjärvi > Ягляярви > "Yaglyayarvi" - or is someone really ready to change the name of Battle of Tolvajärvi/Битва под Толваярви to "Battle of Tolvayarvi/Vitva pod Tolvayarvi"?
I like to highlight, that those names will be not compare to the names, which were changed mostly in the Karelian Isthmus in 1940's, like Antrea/Антреа to Kamennogorsk (at the third time;), Koivisto/Койвисто to Primorsk, Terijoki/Териоки to Zelenogorsk etc.

Jedwabne

Polish users should see this nonsense article about Jedwabne and report it to remove or write a new article. Current article is one big crap.

"Jedwabne pogrom with the estimated 1200-1500 Jews were burned alive in a barn of Bronisław Śleszyński, in the presence of Nazi German gendarmes.Prior to the pogrom some polish christians got wind of the planned pogrom and came to jedwabne from local hamlets to 'help' kill the jews, they came to jedwabne like for a market day, though it wasent.Before the pogroms some jews felt something terrible was going to happen and they begged the local priest to help them by talking to his people, the priest said, theres nothing i can do for you jews.. Before they were burnt alive the polish christians subjected the innocent jews to all sorts of tortures and humiliations like ripping the foetus from pregnant jewish women, forcing the young strong jewish men to carry a statue of lenin before murdering the jews, beating jews with iron bars and wooden clubs, one jew had his eyes gouged out and tongue cut off and left to die for 12hours, after the buring the christians moved from house to house trying to find elderly or sick jews, when they found a little jewish girl called cala (hala)hiding in a chicken coup, they picked her up and carried her to the flames of the still burning barn and threw her on their, then the polish christian murderers rounded up the innocent jewish children that they found hiding and murdered them with pitchhforks, other jews they drowned in the local pond, others they left in the town square all day in 30 degree+ heat without any water, and many jews passed out from heat stress. This was the legacy that the so called 'friendly polish christian' community did to the jews of jedwabne.May the perpetrators burn in hell for all eternity, and may the poor jews live forever in peace in the garden of eden. amen."

Well, that's sad. I was hoping you were interested in 19th century Brazilian history. Do you know how could I get some help on articles related to it? There is no need to know absolutely nothing about Brazilia history as I am writing everything. For example, I'm right now writing several articles about Pedro II of Brazil but I'm not quite willing to make a synopsis of it in the main article. Strona zostala przeniesiona na strone "Lithuanian people of Polish descent", wiec utworzylem obok nowa kategorie "Poles from Lithuania", bo tamta to sie nadaje do osob ktore uwazaly sie za Litwinow albo zyja na Litwie po drugiej wojnie swiatowej. --marekchelsea (talk) 19:17, 1 March 2010 (UTC)

Sa problemy, Varsovian sie doczepil, to jest chyba Polak(i jak ma byc dobrze jak Polacy takie rzeczy wygaduja), przywrocil wszystkie osoby do tej kategorii "Lithuanian people of Polish descent", ale przed chwila przywrocilem wszystko.
