Regarding this exchange
just archived ... do you realize how rude you sound to a third party who just happens by to read the exchange? I warned you that you needed to change your approach. You are not assuming good faith of others. I'm not kidding here... change your approach and work with others instead of assuming the worst of them and attacking them. ++Lar: t/c 00:28, 7 March 2010 (UTC)
- I can't say who started with the rude language but Jack wasn't a complete angel about that either. One thing that irks me a little about your behavior specifically, WLH, is the way you keep on removing discussions from your talk page while continuing them on other people's talk pages. You're allowed to do it technically, but I find it kind of unhelpful, maybe almost inflammatory, even as an onlooker. Food for thought. Equazcion 00:51, 7 Mar 2010 (UTC)
- Actually, I removed the original post he made and he restored it to continue on, I was replying to it on your page because he would not respond to my requests to explain the problems to me here by referring to what he perceived to be my inability to understand it. That he did tell you seemed the place to say that wasn't so hard to do. Please tell Lar this, since I felt quite insulted by the comments he posted to me. Wildhartlivie (talk) 00:57, 7 March 2010 (UTC)
- The removing of threads and splitting them to multiple pages is annoying and disruptive. Several threads here were removed, seemingly to sweep criticism under the carpet. The last was not even archived. I explained my concern with the coding to Equazcion because I am aware that he understands code (toolbar, anyone?). You quite apparently do not grok code as it is you who seems primarily responsible for encouraging that wiki-club to copypasta invalid code all over the wiki. You don't seem much interested in sorting this out by any other means than edit waring and by casting aspersions about my intent here.
- I've tried to talk with you to little effect, as both Larry's and Equazcion's comments rather endorse. I don't care much about you personally, but I will not stand for crappy code being dumped into this project. I'll talk if you cut the bullshite; I'll take you to RFC/U if I have to. What's next is up to you. Regards, Jack Merridew 01:41, 7 March 2010 (UTC)
- I wouldn't say I endorsed that exactly, Jack. I don't know where the bad vibes started, but the first indicator I see is "Please get on the right path, here" from Jack, which I don't think was a good way to start, if that was indeed the first communication about this issue; but I also think WHL may have taken Jack's dismissal of her code-understanding abilities a bit too personally when they weren't necessarily intended that way. Anyway in the end it's all been worked out and you were both right about something (Jack about the code, WHL about the font size), so it would seem the matter can be put to rest. - How someone handles their talk page posts is beyond anyone to criticize. All on one page or split - that's left to choice. Because you prefer to keep discussion threads on one page does not require others to follow that example. I don't come to your talk page to revert things that are removed by you, I don't expect you to do so either. I am not required to archive anything on my talk page and am perfectly free to remove anything I do not wish to retain. I did not cast aspersions on you, I noted that you changed dating to a British style rather than the WP:ENGVAR recommended style of American formatting for American articles. That Lar seems not to see how insulting you were to me is beside the point, I'll point out to you that Equazcion said specifically "I can't say who started with the rude language but Jack wasn't a complete angel about that either." so he did not comment on my being inappropriate while you were not. I don't see that you've tried to talk to me, you insulted me. More than once. And please refrain from cursing in your posts to me. I do not appreciate it. I asked you multiple times to explain it to me and you would not, citing my lack of intelligence and implying that I am not capable of understanding. How anyone sees that as appropriate commentary is beyond me. I also don't quite understand why I am being admonished to be "kinder and gentler" to you, when you come here and curse and threaten me. Wildhartlivie (talk) 01:59, 7 March 2010 (UTC)
- And I'd note, for the record, that WP:ACTOR added the filmography table long before I became a member. There were issues that arose with the old style table and I was attempting to make the old formatting congruent with the use of wikitable, retaining the styling that was previously used without any assistance or offer thereof by anyone familiar with coding and taken from a template that someone tried to make for the project whom I thought was well versed in coding tables. The coding that he gave me wasn't all that far off from what is considered acceptable. Stone the messenger, huh? Wildhartlivie (talk) 02:59, 7 March 2010 (UTC)

- Ya, I see that the evil one started that wikiproject and added the initial table. You should know that I've pinged him about this and that I've done a bit of coding for him, so he knows that I'm not talking out my ass. Regards, Jack Merridew 03:14, 7 March 2010 (UTC)
- I never said you were talking there, but I did ask you to refrain from using cursing and vulgarities if you post here. I would also ask you to refrain from diminishing it to a "club" here, call it a project, that's what the rest of Misplaced Pages calls it. He's basically not active in WP:ACTOR anymore, and I'm sure he's heard about how the prettytable code was no longer acceptable but wasn't involved when it was changed to wikitable. But thanks ever so much for describing me as a "rather strident club member". I'm not pushing back, you suggested a new consensus be garnered for the font size and that's what I started. Please don't misrepresent things. Wildhartlivie (talk) 03:22, 7 March 2010 (UTC)

(←) Wild, if the decision is to use the standard grey format, who is going to change the thousands of articles with the blue format? Because I sure don't see any list of volunteers on the opposition list. —Mike Allen 04:59, 8 March 2010 (UTC)
- I'm not privy to whichever exchange this refers to, but in general if there's demonstrated consensus to make a broad change that just involves making identical code tweaks to lots of pages, a bot can be tasked to implement it. Equazcion 05:04, 8 Mar 2010 (UTC)
