He writes a weekly message through The Berean Call. Hunt has traveled to the Near East, lived in Egypt, and has written numerous books on theology, prophecy, cults, and other religions.
Theologically, Hunt is evangelical, Dispensational and Arminian.
Dave Hunt addressed Calvinism in a book called "What Love is This? Calvinism's Misrepresentation of God"(Loyal (2002). 438 pages. ISBN 1929125305; 2nd ed: The Berean Call (2004). 573 pages. ISBN 1928660126), which became one of his most controversial works. According to Calvinists, the book is inaccurate and misrepresentative of Calvinism. However, Hunt makes direct use of Calvinistic sources and maintains he is addressing the true nature and logical ends of Calvinism. Prior to Mr. Hunt publishing "What Love Is This", he was encouraged to abandon the book by those who claimed inaccuracies in the book. See here for one example: What Theology is This? Dave Hunt’s Misrepresentation of God and Calvinism. Mr. Hunt's convictions and confidence on the matter obviously won out, as the book was published in 2002 and revised for a second edition in 2004.
Hunt's proponents appreciate his uncompromising, candid, "no-holds-barred" approach to apologetics, while detractors label him divisive and inflammatory.
