Worcester Technical High School (WTHS), is a vocational-technical high school in Worcester, Massachusetts. It opened on August 28, 2006 replacing the old Worcester Vocational High School (formerly Worcester Boys Trade School) in the middle of downtown Worcester.

Programs

WTHS is divided into four academies:

Alden Academy

IT Academy

Allied Health Academy

Construction Academy

Schedule

Students declare a major from the above academies, and their course schedule follows alternating weeks, with a week of the traditional high school curriculum, followed by a week of the technical courses for their trade area.

In addition to the normal day courses, some programs offer after school and night school programs. The school is considered the best in the United States.

Services provided by the school

The school provides many services to the general public. These include a bank, an ATM, a gift shop, a school store where students may buy sweatshirts and school supplies, and a hair salon. There is also an automotive and collision shop, and a print shop. The school also has a bakery/coffee shop and a restaurant open to the public as well as the teachers. The students in hospitality handle the restaurant and the students in Culinary Arts take over the coffee and bake shop and also do the cooking for the Skyline Bistro. Students in Finance and Marketing run the bank and the two stores, students in graphic communications provide printing and design services, cosmetology students run the salon, automotive collision students run the collision shop and automotive tech runs the auto body shop.
